Product Development Partnerships (PDPs)

§ There has historically been little financial incentive for private sector product developers to invest in developing the innovative solutions for neglected diseases.

§ Late 1990s and early 2000s: a movement of stakeholders came together to forge new models to address acute global health needs.

§ The response to this movement led to a wave of PDPs. Examples of the PDPs are listed on the left.
