Human monoclonal IgE (non-immune antibody)

The DIA HE1 IgE preparation is an affinity-purified, fully human IgE antibody with kappa light chains. The IgE is produced in vitro from a monoclonal hybridoma. This unique source guarantees freedom from contamination by other immunoglobulin iso-types.

Compared to IgE from a myeloma patient, where batch-to-batch variability may be high, the monoclonal source of IgE ensures very high reproducibility. Because of its very low batch-to-batch variation, this antibody is used widely in the field of allergy testing mostly as a standard in quantitative IgE assays and for internal control and QC purposes.

Other applications include research in immunochemistry and in cellular immunology.

Acute Kidney injury (AKI)

Acute kidney injury (AKI), previously known as acute renal failure, represents a medi-cal emergency and encompasses a wide range of injury to the kidneys. Acute kidney injury is a rapid deterioration of renal function, resulting in an inability to maintain fl uid, electrolyte and acid-base balance. Acute kidney injury increase morbidity and mortal-ity and due to the severity of acute kidney injury the healthcare costs are signifi cant. As a result of this increased efforts into identifying new acute kidney injury biomarkers can be seen, as biomarkers addressing the need for earlier diagnosis of acute kidney injury would ultimately save lives, raise quality of life for patients worldwide and save costs for the healthcare system.

The NGAL Test™ is a particle-enhanced turbidimetric immunoassay for the quan-titative determination of neutrophil gelatinase-associated lipocalin (NGAL) in human urine, EDTA plasma or heparin plasma on automated clinical chemistry analyzers. NGAL measurements are useful in the diagnosis of acute kidney injury which may lead to acute renal failure. The test can be run on most automated clinical chemistry analyzers.
