PSPI Flash Point Monitor

• Direct measurement by sparking technique of Flash Point over range of 10 to 121 °C

• Samples with viscosities up to 220 cSt at 38 °C

• Correlates with ASTM D-56 TAG Closed Cup and ASTM D-93 Pensky Martens

• Repeatability ±1.0 °C

• Typical cycle time of 1-7 minutes.

• Leak detector incorporated.

Sparking Technology

• Sample and air flow past a heater and liquid space RTD sensor into the flash chamber

• Liquid overflows to drain, fuel-air vapors rise within chamber

• Heater gradually raises fuel-air temperature while electrode circuit generates a spark at user-defined intervals

• When the fuel-air mixture ignites, the vapor-space temperature spikes.

• The sample temperature at that point is reported as the flash point temperature
