As we send off Fr. Casey Coleman this Sunday to his new
assignment in Greensboro at Our Lady of Grace, we ask
Mary to take him under her care and protect him. We are a
grateful community for the good and holy things you have given
us these past 3 years. We will miss you and we all love you!!!
You have impacted so many of us and for that we are better for it.
We will not say goodbye but see you later. May God bless you at
your parish and provide you al you need. Mary Mother of God,

Welcome to St. Mary Mother of God!
We welcome this week our new pastor, Fr. Paul Asoh, MSP.
He prefers to be called Fr. Paul. He is transfering from
St. Therese in Moorsville. His first day at St. Mary’s will
be Tuesday 21st and his first Mass will be this Wednesday at
5:30 pm. Information about his intstallation Mass will be posted as
soon as it is known. St. Therese, Pray for us!

Damos la bienvenida esta semana a nuestro nuevo pastor, el Padre. Paul Asoh, MSP. Prefiere ser
llamado El p. Pablo. Se está trasladando desde St. Therese en Moorsville. Su primer día en St. Mary's
será el martes 21 y su primera misa será este miércoles a las 5:30 pm. La información sobre su misa de
instalación se publicará tan pronto como se conozca. Santa Teresa, ruega por nosotros.

Dear Parish Family,
Farewell To My Wonderful Family and Parish of St. Mary’s As I have mentioned here recently a farewell is not goodbye. As I will always carry you all
in my heart the way that Our Lord carries each one of us in His Most Sacred Heart. As a priest
we do not have families of our own in a traditional sense, but you all are my family. Just as at
different points in our lives members of our family move away and go onto new and different
opportunities that God has in store for them for the future. When this happens those family
members are never forgotten though they may be separated by circumstances and distance, they
are carried in the hearts of one another. When they have opportunities to be together again
even for brief moments it’s as if they never left. They are able to share in the joy of one
another’s presence that comes from the love shared in Christ. This is the communion of our
faith that holds us together, that union of love that binds us together always. The union of love
that poured forth from Our Lord’s Eucharistic and Sacred Heart, that we partake of every time
we celebrate the Eucharist. The more our hearts are united there with Jesus in the Eucharist the
more we are united.
I can never thank you all enough for all that you have done to help me to learn and grow as a
priest and pastor. All the good that has been accomplished over my three years here at St.
Mary’s is thanks to you all. Many people over these last two weeks have been thanking me for
all that I have done, but when I reflect on it, it is your work not mine. Sure I may have
encouraged and supported, but it is your love shared with each other flowing from your love of
Christ that has brought about all the good that has been accomplished. That is what I am going
to miss the most, being able to share in your love shared with one another. All the good that I
will try to do for the Lord and for the faithful of my new assignment will be because of the love
you shared with me. I pray that you will continue to share that love with one another and with
Father Paul.
Though we may be saddened by the separation of distance and circumstance of life, nothing
can separate us from the Love of Christ Jesus our Lord. So not to say goodbye or even
farewell, but, "I will see you in the Eucharist.”
Please offer a warm welcome to Fr. Paul Asoh, MSP Fr. Paul will begin his new assignment at St. Mary Mother of God as the new Pastor
effective 12 noon on Tuesday July 21st. Please keep him as I know you already have in your
prayers as he transitions into this new role. He brings with him 18 years of priestly experience,
but this is his first assignment as a Pastor. You all have been wonderful to all of the recent new
pastors who have been assigned here and I know you will continue this tradition with Fr.
Paul. He is truly blessed to be here as the pastor of this Amazing Parish.

Querida familia parroquial,
Adiós a mi maravillosa familia y parroquia de Santa María
Como he mencionado aquí recientemente, una despedida no es un adiós. Como siempre los llevaré a
todos en mi corazón de la manera en que Nuestro Señor lleva a cada uno de nosotros en Su Sagrado
Corazón. Como sacerdote no tenemos familias propias en un sentido tradicional, pero todos ustedes son
mi familia. Al igual que en diferentes momentos de nuestras vidas, los miembros de nuestra familia se
mudan y se dirigen a nuevas y diferentes oportunidades que Dios les tiene reservadas para el futuro.
Cuando esto sucede, esos miembros de la familia nunca se olvidan, aunque pueden estar separados por
las circunstancias y la distancia, se llevan en los corazones de los demás. Cuando tienen la oportunidad
de volver a estar juntos, incluso por breves momentos, es como si nunca se hubieran ido. Son capaces de
compartir la alegría de la presencia del otro que proviene del amor compartido en Cristo. Esta es la
comunión de nuestra fe que nos mantiene unidos, esa unión de amor que nos une siempre. La unión de
amor que brotó del Corazón Eucarístico y Sagrado de Nuestro Señor, del que participamos cada vez que
celebramos la Eucaristía. Cuanto más se unen nuestros corazones allí con Jesús en la Eucaristía, más nos
unimos.
Nunca puedo agradecerles lo suficiente por todo lo que han hecho para ayudarme a aprender y crecer
como sacerdote y pastor. Todo lo bueno que he logrado durante mis tres años aquí en St. Mary's es
gracias a todos ustedes. Muchas personas en estas últimas dos semanas me han estado agradeciendo por
todo lo que he hecho, pero cuando reflexiono sobre eso, es tu trabajo, no el mío. Claro que podría
haberla alentado y apoyado, pero es su amor compartido entre ustedes que fluye de su amor a Cristo lo
que ha producido todo el bien que se ha logrado. Eso es lo que más voy a extrañar, poder compartir tu
amor compartido entre nosotros. Todo lo bueno que intentaré hacer por el Señor y por los fieles de mi
nueva asignación será por el amor que compartieron conmigo. Rezo para que continúen compartiendo
ese amor unos con otros y con el Padre Paul.
Aunque nos entristezca la separación de la distancia y las circunstancias de la vida, nada puede
separarnos del Amor de Cristo Jesús, nuestro Señor. Así que no para decir adiós o incluso adiós, sino:
"Te veré en la Eucaristía".

El p. Paul comenzará su nueva asignación en Santa María Madre de Dios como el nuevo Pastor a
