Private Lessons

Private lessons are the best way to improve as a musician. Lessons offer students the opportunity to work one-on-

one with an instrument specialist. When students study privately, they improve instrument specific techniques as

well as basic music concepts. We would like to encourage all instrumental music students to take private lessons.

Please use this list to contact a possible private instructor. If they are not able to fit you in, call another individual

from the list or ask them to refer you to someone else. You are not limited to this list. If you have any questions,

email your band director. Good Luck!

8th Grade Band Scales

In 8th grade band, you will be challenged to learn all 12 major scales. For your 3rd Quarter Assessment you will

have to play all 12 major scales without stopping. That means your will start at the beginning of the page and play

all the way to the end without breaks. Want to get a head start on learning the scales? Use the YMS Grand Master

Summer Band Camp

It’s not too late to sign up for the YMS Band Camp Imagination. Registration is due May 26th. Late registration

must be communicated with Mrs. Duy at lduy@y115.org. At camp you will continue to improve as a musician and

review and refresh your skills with exciting new summer band music.

Where: Grande Reserve Band Room

When: July 31 - August 10 (Week 1 M-F, Week 2 M-Th)

Time: 11:30am-12:45pm

Who: Incoming 8th & 9th Grade Band Students (current 7th & 8th graders)

Cost: $90

Registration: Due Friday, May 26th

Concert: Camp will conclude with a casual concert for family & friends.
