On March 1st, patients were transferred and

admitted to the new state-of-the-art wing for

Hip Fracture patients. Eighteen new private

patient rooms were opened, two of which are specifically

designed to manage bariatric patients. The bariatric

rooms are equipped with a Liko Lift System and this

ceiling lift assists the staff in safe management of patients

up to 600 lbs.

To provide the highest level of patient privacy & security,

each patient room is equipped with its own individual

computer for staff documentation. This allows for

efficient and accurate documentation on the patients

via a computer that is easily accessible for staff through

a locked keypad station. Every patient room is also

equipped with individual medication boxes with keypad

access to ensure that medications are dispensed

accurately and timely for enhanced medical management

of the patients. Extra wide double doors allow for easy

transport of beds, stretchers, equipment, and bariatric

patients. The floors are designed with smooth walking

surfaces and are visually appealing in a mix of laminate

and tile. There are no thresholds, which reduces the risk of

falls when entering the patient’s room and bathroom.

The Versacare® Bed System offers superior patient

comfort and intuitive controls for easy operation. There are

numerous patient assist features that help keep patients

safe while in bed and in transferring. If needed, the

beds can even transform into a chair making it easier for

patients and caregivers to manage routine tasks of daily

living. These beds are designed with foam mattresses and

continuous low pressure to reduce the risk of skin issues.

The new beds are rated to manage and aide in healing

skin breakdown at all stages. Scales are a built in feature

of the new beds to ease weighing patients.
