Thank you to Ms Rebecca Devine, Ms Georgie Spong and Ms Melanie Goodhew for their tireless efforts to get these students prepared for their dance performances. Thank you to those parents who have assisted with costumes, makeup and hair. It is a huge commitment for families.
Next week, the Junior, Intermediate and Boys' Ensembles will also be performing at the Seymour Centre (see below for dates).
I would also like to congratulate Eliza H who was successful at her audition to be one of the Master of Ceremonies at next Monday night's Dance Festival.

Is your child playing Fortnite?Have you read the Parent Guide to Fornite info sheet on our website?
At BBPS, we are noticing the negative effects of this game, particularly on boys and most concerning, on boys in K-2.
Safe on Social Media says: The game is highly addictive and has an M classification.
"Films and computer games classified M (Mature) contain content of a moderate impact and are recommended for teenagers aged 15 years and over" Source
If your child is playing Fortnite, you should read the guide and some of the editorials: SMH 7 June 2018; and Weekend Australian 31 May 2018
The M classification is attributed to Fortnite. We have seen a noticeable change in some behaviours in the classroom and in the playground, that are directly linked to Fortnite.
Beanies for Brain Cancer Last chance to purchase a beanie for winter. There are only 50 left that can be purchased over the front office counter (cash only) at school this week. All proceeds will go to the Mark Hugh's Foundation.

Sports News
PSSA Rugby League On Friday, Bondi Beach PS competed in all three SCPSSA Rugby League Semi Finals for the first time in my six years at the school.
Mr Delaney said, “the Open A’s played a magnificent team game” and thus were victorious over Double Bay PS. The Under 10’s had a try-for-try battle with Double Bay PS. Their strong defence allowed them to finish with a hard fought 32-28 victory. Even though the Under 9’s only had six players in the last of the semi finals, their brilliant long-range tries and exceptional goal line defence helped them take the win home against Bronte PS. The Open B’s played Bronte PS in the 9th placed semi final match and Mr Delaney said, “they played exceptionally well to hold on for the win”. A huge congratulations to you all, well done!

New Child Care Package InformationFrom 2 July 2018, Australia will have a New Child Care Package. Under the new package, the Child Care Subsidy (CCS) will replace the existing Child Care Benefit and Child Care Rebate. CCS will be the main way the Government assists families with their child care fees.
These changes are far-reaching and will affect the majority of families at the school, whether through kids at The Hive or younger siblings receiving day care.
All affected families should log on to their myGov account and complete an online assessment, which will determine the appropriate level of support. This must be done before 2nd July in order to remain eligible for assistance.
More information can be found here.
2018 Interschools SnowsportsThe Interschools Snowsports Championships is a series of snowsports competitions where students compete for their school as part of a team or an individual, in a number of discipline events. Events run between 17 - 20 July. Entries open in the beginning of May and close mid June. They have a strict no late entry policy.
