Meet The Maker 2019

Congratulations Stage 3 students, your STEM

showcase was huge! The library was packed

with visitors and enthusiastic students eager to

share their learning. Over the course of

Semester 1 students have worked on designing

and making a product aimed at assisting those

experiencing homelessness. Students have

learned many new skills and, most importantly,

have developed their empathy and

understanding towards those experiencing

homelessness in the community. We were

fortunate to have Dave from Points for Purpose

as our mentor and are thankful for the

generosity of the community who raised over

$450 on the night to purchase backpack

sleeping bags which will be distributed to those

in need.

If you would like to know how you can help

those experiencing homelessness, please have

a look at the Points for Purpose website on the

below link;

P&C News Trivia Night - What a groovy night! We had a

fun night on Saturday raising funds for more

resources for the school. A great night was had

by all and the trivia was a tight contest. We

managed to raise over $7,000 on the evening.

Our numbers were down significantly from the

last few years, so we were pleased to have so

many generous community members help is

raise these funds.

Thank you to all the volunteers that made

Saturday night a success. Alyce Odams, Tash

Thomas, Shanan Green and Eleisha Legg did a

lot of preparation and organisation for the

evening. Jo Rogers, Jo Johnston and Gillian Hill

worked hard to get us donations for the night.

These people then helped on the night to sell

tickets and arrange silent auction items. Thank

you to the families that came down on

Saturday to help set up including the Greens,

Leggs, Puntoriero, Rogers families, Kelly Bowers,

Adam Watson and Mark Condon. I would also

like to thank everyone from the community

who supported the evening and donated

money for the school.

If you have thoughts or feedback for next years

event please let me know. You can email or

message me on

[email protected]

or 0435 035 340.

School Banking - We are not able to complete

school banking next week (Tuesday 10th Sep-

tember) as we do not have a volunteer

available to complete the banking as required

by the bank. Any bank books that are sent on

the day, will be returned home. If you would

like to be involved in volunteering for this

service, please let us know.

P&C Meeting - A reminder our next P&C meet-

ing is Thursday 12th September.

Thanks

Rachel
