Assembly Last week with most of our Stage 3 away we had to call on a few students to pull together the assembly for us. With the help from Mrs Broad the small group of students managed to conduct an excellent assembly. A big thank you to Mrs Broad and the students. At this assembly it was noted by Mr Pascoe that the students were very polite and thanked the presenters of awards for helping. Thanking people takes little effort but is noticed by others as it was on Friday. So the focus this week is around showing good manners, they are always appreciated.

Contributions from our junior journalists At the end of last term we had some contributions from Kinder Ducks writing about their favourite teachers. This week some of our senior students would like to tell you why Nambucca Heads Primary School is the best school. I hope you enjoy their thoughts. Morelle Makinson Relieving Principal

The thing I like best about this school is my friends because they are kind, nice and helpful. Also the teachers and aids because they teach me how to do things like spelling words and adding numbers. My favourite subjects are writing, art and sport. Sport would have to be my favourite out of all of them because it iss fun and you get to do it out of the class rooms. Dominique Byrt The thing I love about my school is the teachers. They are really nice and helpful. When it’s lunch I get involved in soccer, touch and all activities. My favourite subjects at school are sport, art and writing. The thing I also love is my friends. I love seeing them everyday that’s why I love Nambucca Heads Primary School. Thank you Jayda Rixon The thing like the most at

Nambucca Heads Public School is

the band with Mrs Battiston. I

play the guitar and some of my

friends go to band as well. I go to

band every Tuesday. We have 4

songs. I don’t really have a

favourite teacher. They are all

nice, caring, funny and friendly. Lucy Green

I think that the best thing about

Nambucca Heads Primary school is all the lovely, friendly, kind, nice, amazing, awesome teachers. They’re all my favourite. I can’t pick. I also love playing with my friends on the playground or playing soccer on the bottom oval. My favourite subjects are sport, art, writing. I think that the best school in the whole entire world and universe is Nambucca Heads Primary School! Mia Kelsey

Seemore’s Fun Page

Seemore’s Jokes Q: What did the chick say when it saw an orange in the nest? A: Look at the orange mama laid. Q: Is it good manners to eat fried chicken with your fin-gers? A: No, you should eat your fingers separately. Q: Why do hens lay eggs? A: If they dropped them, they'd break. Q: Why do seagulls live near the sea? A: Because if they lived near the bay, they would be called bagels. Q: Diner: Do you serve chicken here? A: Waiter: Sit down, sir. We serve anyone. Q: Diner: I can't eat this chick-en. Call the manager. A: Waiter: It's no use. He can't eat it either. Q: Which side of a chicken has the most feathers? A: The outside. Q: What do you get when you cross a parrot with a centi-pede? A: A walkie-talkie, of course. Q: Why did the farmer name his pig ink? A: Because he kept running out of his pen Q: What does a cat go to sleep on? A caterpillow!

All About Sharks

Sharks are amazing fish that have been around since long before the dinosaurs existed. They live in waters all

over the world, in every ocean, and even in some rivers and lakes. Unlike bony fish, sharks have no bones; their skeleton is made of cartilage, which is a tough, fibrous substance, not nearly as hard as bone. Sharks also have no swim bladder (unlike bony fish).

Sharks are a type of fish.

Seemore was on holidays last week. Seemore is now back. He has had his photo taken this week, you have to guess where he is? Seemore would like you to remember to be polite and say please and thank you when someone does something to help you.

Special times at Lake Ainsworth

On Wednesday the 9th of October at 6.30am in the morning, I made my way to school so I could catch the bus to camp. We were going to Lake Ainsworth Sport and Recreational Centre. We were departing at 7.00am and arriving around 10.30. The bus trip took approximately 3 and a half hours. It was a good trip. When we arrived we had lunch and then went kayaking. The kayaking was nice and definitely my favourite. When we got back we had some free time and then had dinner. After dinner we played some sport and then had supper. After that we went to sleep. When we woke we had breakfast then went to archery then had lunch then we did stupid raft building which was rigged because the girls won. Then we had free time then dinner, then the country fair then supper. Then we went to sleep. Day 3 - we had breakfast after that we did rock climbing then we had lunch and departed back to school. We got back at 6.00pm. Kyah Lulham

Last week I went to camp at Lake Ainsworth. I went kayaking with Jack. I rocked the boat and tipped him out into the water. Jacob Pope

On Wednesday 9th October Stage 3 went on a school excursion to Lake Ainsworth. We left school at 700am to go to camp. It was a long and exciting 31/2 hour bus trip. At half way we stopped at Woodburn for recess. While we were eating recess a man was whipper snipping and a rock flew in my eye. At around 11.00am we arrived at Lake Ainsworth. We went to the dining room to hear what we had to do. After that we went to settle into our cabins. The cabin was called Ocean View but there was no ocean view. Stage 3 got split up into 2 groups, the Sharks and the Manta Rays. Bella and I were in the Manta Rays together. The first activity we did was archery. It was hot, fun and terrific. After that we went for a swim in the pool. We heard that the Sharks went kayaking it was wet and won-derful. After that we went to the dining room to have dinner, we had roast chick-en and vegies. The night activities were after that. It was unforgettable. We went back to our cabins and it was lights out. Morning finally came. Bella and I went for a run on the beach. We came back to the cabins to get dressed for breakfast. We had toast and cereal. Bike riding was next. We rode into town and had our fruit. Everyone was hot and sweaty so we went for a swim in the pool again. We had chicken chippies on a wrap for lunch. Next was rock climbing. We had 2 goes each. I got to the top on my second go. We showered and went off to dinner. We had rice with meat. Country Fair was af-ter we had air hockey. We raised the sec-ond highest money. We went to the dining room after that to have supper. It was milk and cake. After that was lights out. Charlotte Williams

Last week on Wednesday we went to

Lake Ainsworth. We got in the bus and

drove for 4 hours and got there about

11.00am. First thing we did was archery.

Then we went to the pool. We had night

activities to 9pm. Thursday bike riding

then rock climbing then we went to the

pool. Then we went to Country Fair to

9pm. Friday we went kayaking then at

2pm we drove home on the bus. We

got home at 5.40pm. Thank you NHPS.

Trent Hawkes

And back at school……… Last week my class Stage 3 went on an excursion to Lake Ainsworth but some Stage 3 people did not go, such as me. There were no captains or prefects so we got to run the assembly. Speaking at the assembly was so fun!!! Adam Cross
