Since starting at the school the P&C, the staff and I have been working hard to promote the unique qualities of the school and the benefits of a small school education. Very early in the year we set a common goal. This was to bring the enrolment back to at least 104 students. Our efforts have been rewarded and all indications are that we will have an enrolment of around 115 students. This is up from our current enrolment of 94. Increased enrolments will provide extra teaching and office staffing. The benefits of both of these cannot be measured easily, but it is all on the positive side. Minutes of last night’s P&C meeting, with all the exciting initiatives, will be soon on our website. Before and After School Care Currently the P&C and the school are jointly working on providing before and after school care in 2015. The general concept is to run a breakfast club in the morning starting from 7.30 am. Students would enter the playground at 8.30am when playground supervision with a teacher on duty commences. In the afternoon, care would be provided between the hours of 3 – 6pm. This would include afternoon tea, a homework centre and recreational activities. It will be run as a not for profit venture by the P&C and the school. We have commenced investigations into its organisation and running and will form a steering committee after the next holidays. Principal’s Message P & C Meeting

Last night was another enjoyable and productive P&C

Meeting. What is very clear to me is that both the

parents and the staff are working very hard to

continually improve the educational experience for

students at Huskisson Public School.

Since starting at the school the P&C, the staff and I

have been working hard to promote the unique

qualities of the school and the benefits of a small

school education. Very early in the year we set a

common goal. This was to bring the enrolment back to

at least 104 students.

Our efforts have been rewarded and all indications are

that we will have an enrolment of around 115

students. This is up from our current enrolment of 94.

Increased enrolments will provide extra teaching and

office staffing. The benefits of both of these cannot be

measured easily, but it is all on the positive side.

Minutes of last night’s P&C meeting, with all the

exciting initiatives, will be soon on our website.

Kindergarten 2015

Our recent Kindergarten information sessions to

showcase the school have proved successful.

Although we have to wait until we actually have our

new kindergarten students enrolled, in uniforms and in

classrooms we look to have at least one straight

kindergarten class to start next year.

Before and After School Care

Currently the P&C and the school are jointly working

on providing before and after school care in 2015.

The general concept is to run a breakfast club in the

morning starting from 7.30 am. Students would

enter the playground at 8.30am when playground

supervision with a teacher on duty commences.

In the afternoon, care would be provided between

the hours of 3 – 6pm. This would include afternoon

tea, a homework centre and recreational activities.

It will be run as a not for profit venture by the P&C

and the school. We have commenced investigations

into its organisation and running and will form a

steering committee after the next holidays.

Disco this Friday

This promises to be another fun and enjoyable

night. The K - 2 students can show off their new

beach wear for the summer while the 3 - 6 can thrill

us with their celebrity status. Hope to see you there.

Getting ready for school camp
