Volume 3 – 19/20 November 2019 Principal’s Message WELCOME BACK!! Thank goodness CTU, SEIU and CPS reached agreements and our students and faculty are back in school! Our students had a special first day back last Friday with Halloween festivities in every classroom. Our Prek-3rd grade student Halloween parade is always a highlight of our school year and it couldn’t have come at a better time. Although we couldn’t parade outside due to slippery sidewalks, our students enjoyed walking across our auditorium stage as our families cheered them on. At this time, I do not have answers about when lost time will be made up, end of quarter date adjustments, etc. I will give you updates as I receive them. Morning Lineup and Outdoor Recess With the fluctuating temperature, please make sure students come to school dressed appropriately for all types of weather. All students will be going outside if it is 20° and higher with the wind chill. Please be sure to label all your child’s outdoor attire so they can be easily returned if lost. Our Lost & Found is already overflowing!! All lost items will be in the hallway on the 1st floor during Report Card Pick-Up. Any leftover items will be donated. I am VERY thankful to see all of our students smiling faces last Friday. I am VERY thankful for all of the love and support shown to our staff during the past two weeks from our families and community. I am VERY thankful to be a Beaubien Bulldog!!! Thank you for your partnership and support. Have a thankful and delicious Thanksgiving! Warm regards, Michelle H. Dear Bulldog Families, The 5th graders have been working since September on creating a display to celebrate The Day of the Dead. The Day of the Dead (Spanish: Día de Muertos) is a Mexican holiday celebrated throughout Mexico, in particular the Central and South regions, and by people of Mexican heritage elsewhere. The multi-day holiday involves family and friends gathering to pray for and remember friends and family members who have died, and helping support their spiritual journey. In Mexican culture, death is viewed as a natural part of the human cycle. Mexicans view it not as a day of sadness but as a day of celebration because their loved ones awake and celebrate with them.

Although we are a little late, please come by and see their beautiful display on the 1st floor starting on Nov 4th.

During Report Card Pick Up (Date TBD), please visit Rm. 203 for some fun and to raise money for the 8th grade class trip to Washington D.C. Some of our 8th grade students will be doing face painting and puppet making with the kids for a small fee. Please bring your children by to have some creative fun.

• Display boards are still available! Get

them while you can! See Mr. Carr in Rm. 003.
