PROFESSIONAL LEARNING COMMUNITY

Dear Hillcrest Parents and Guardians,

This is a reminder that on Friday, August 30 school will end 90 minutes earlier than our usual end time. That early release time will be 1:30 pm for Hillcrest Middle School. Lunch will be served.

Education is a field that continues to change rapidly, and we are dedicated to ensuring that our staff are able to fulfill their commitment of meeting the challenges of today’s educational environment. Supporting this commitment includes providing the time for staff to work in Professional Learning Communities (PLCs) each week, at a regularly scheduled time, to collect, review and utilize student data to more effectively serve our students’ academic and behavioral needs.

We are looking forward to collaborating and looking at pre-assessment data to create goals for student learning.

Thank you! Matt Hreha- Principal Colleen Weeks- Assistant Principal

CAFETERIA Cafeteria Manager: Renee Flagler

Contact: [email protected]

Welcome Falcons,

As manager of your cafeteria I’d like to give you a few tips on how the cafeteria works. It is

important to be prepared by knowing what is being offered each day by picking up a menu here

in the cafeteria or the front office. You can even go on the Hillcrest website to see what is

being served for the month. Being prepared helps us to serve you faster. There is also a menu

board on the wall as you approach the serving line.

We encourage you to take advantage of the salad bar too. If you buy a lunch whether you are

paid, Free or reduced lunch, you are entitled to a trip to the salad bar and fill up your plate with

fresh fruits and vegetables and salad.

Page 7: August 26 August 30, 2019 WELCOME BACK!!!€¦ · Rubik’s Cube – Mrs. Biller Sewing – Mrs. Kenobbie FX Make-up – Mrs. Beaubien Teen Improv – Mrs. Beaubien PROFESSIONAL LEARNING

In addition to the entrée, sandwich and Grab n’ go box, we offer a Monthly feature. This month

it is a Cheese quesadilla with salsa or half turkey ham sandwich and salad. We will feature two

different items each month.

Don’t forget we also serve breakfast in the morning, so if you oversleep or are in a rush and

can’t eat at home come join us just before eight in the morning and choose one of the five items

we offer each day.

Last but not least. Each Friday we offer pizza except on Half days. Sardella’s will be one week

then the deep dish cheese the week after that. Oh and don’t forget you always have to choose a

fruit or vegetable or both if you’d like.

THROWING FOOD FOR ANY REASON IS NOT ACCEPTABLE AND WILL

RESULT IN A DISCIPLINARY CONSEQUENCE.
