PRINCIPAL’S COMMENTS 26th October 2018 Issue 10 Welcome back! A new term has begun. The year has flown by so quickly, it is hard to believe that it is the last term of the year! Term 4 is full of exciting activities happening including camp, graduation and excursions. The grade 6’s are commencing their final term at primary school and we wish them and exciting and memory making term at Movelle. Keep an eye out on the newsletter for all the important dates and upcoming events! We have several new families joining Movelle this term, we are excited to welcome new students to the school and they have all settled in very well. We also have another staff member joining the year 3 & 4 team as their class sizes have increased with the new enrolments. Melissa Searle has been appointed for the remainder of the year. Mel comes with a wealth of experience including her masters degree in Wellbeing. Mel is also an accredited trainer in Respectful Relationships and has been a leader in the development of this program across a number of educational environments. Work is well underway for planning for the 2019 school year. With this in mind we need to plan class makeups. Next year we will be adding another few classes due to our increasing enrolments and results. We are once again going to have 2 small prep classes. To ensure we have enough staff and classes we need to be informed as soon as possible if your child is leaving us at the end of this year. If you are leaving please inform the ladies at the office as soon as possible. The first of our four transition sessions for 2019 prep students commenced today. If you know of any families in our area who have not yet enrolled for next year, please encourage them to enrol as soon as possible. We look forward to meeting our newest students and their families. Movelle School Values: Compassion, Respect, Page 2

Trash Free Tuesday Our Junior School Council representatives are organising our first ‘Rubbish Free Lunch Day’ (nude food day). We would like to encourage children and parents to think of items you can pack in a lunchbox, which create no rubbish. Some ideas are- fruit and vegetables,

sandwiches packed in a snap lock container, drink bottles not fruit boxes and putting snacks into reusable containers rather than glad wrap or plastic. The grade, which brings the least amount of rubbish to school on

Tuesday 30th of October, will be awarded a class certificate! Movelle is working towards becoming a ‘greener school’ by sending less rubbish to landfill. Stay tuned for more ideas on how to reduce waste.

Recently in Movelle’s Hands On Learning Program students have been very busy. Many projects have been completed including the gardens out the front of school. The chicken coup now known as the Chicken Castle is almost ready for its new residents. Congrats to our Hands On Learning students for all their effort. Cheers, Miss Deb
