Student Representative Council (SRC) The SRC is a group of students elected by their peers to represent all students in the school. It works demo-cratically to represent the student body in school de-cision-making and to help organise ways for students to participate in school life. Zone Swimming Report

On Wednesday 4 March the Zone Swimming Car-nival was held at Des Renford Aquatic Centre. Despite the weather the carnival went ahead and was conducted in tremendous spirit with everyone rallying in support of the competitors. The Centre Management team allowing students to remain in the Indoor Competition Pool area to avoid the worst of the conditions whilst not swimming. It is fair to say; however, that all of the students were more than enthusiastic and had no qualms about swimming, being very excited to experience swim-ming in the rain. Congratulations to all who represented our school. There was some very strong competition and great results included three of our swimmers gaining places in the following events: Chloe G: 1st place 8 years girls 50m Freestyle Bill Z: 3rd Place 11years boys 50m Breast-

stroke Arianna T: 2nd Place Open 200M

Individual Medley, 3rd Place 10 years girls 50m Freestyle, 3rd place 10 years girls 50m Backstroke

As finals were not held due to the conditions, we are awaiting confirmation to determine whether the students have qualified to attend the Regional Swimming Carnival. It was a great competition despite the conditions and I would like to thank all who attended to support the students ā€”it was great to see everyone.

Best regards Darran Rawson

Student Wellbeing @ BHPS

You Can Do It!

Congratulations to all the swimmers who represented Bellevue Hill PS at the Sydney Coastal Zone carnival this week. The students displayed great confidence and determi-nation to compete in their individual events to the best of their ability. Teamwork was displayed by cheering for each other and encouraging their team mates. Despite the inclement weather, spirits were high and a strong sense of camaraderie ensured the students were all excited and determined to achieve their best. Congratulations to all of our competitors who were se-lected to take part. Doing so was a personal achieve-ment. Special mention must be made of the three swimmers

who were awarded ribbons for placing in their individu-

al events ā€“ Congratulations to Chloe (Year 3), Arianna

(Year 4) and Bill (Year 5).

International Womenā€™s Day ā€“ 8 March

Many countries around the World celebrate the Inter-national Womenā€™s Day this Sunday. Students from Kin-dergarten to Year 6 made lots of beautiful post cards and fridge magnets to congratulate their mothers and grandmothers with this celebration. They also wished a lot of joy, health and love to their sisters, teachers and aunties.
