other EMS subjects

School will recommend for child to take HMTL at

P5 if he/she meets the criteria

HMTL will be taken at P5 (& P6), as a separate

subject

Criteria for P5 HMTL

Parental Option is given at the end of the year for

parents to opt for HMTL

Parents to exercise serious considerations based

on child’s interest and ability

Considerations for P5 HMTL

Have to cope with learning 5 subjects (content/

homework) at P5 and sit for 5 exam papers

HMTL exam focuses on Writing Skills:

1. Composition (Topic / Continuous writing)

2. Comprehension - Higher Order Thinking
