b. SYSTEM FABRICATION REQUIREMENTS

1. Air Dispersion Method Specifier: select method or combination of methods to suit application delete any not required **Mesh slots are not an acceptable or equivalent method of air distribution for any flow model due to overall poor performance and additional maintenance required from clogging with dirt/dust/debris**

(a.) Micro-perforation – (low velocity, laminar, low/no throw) Woven, high porosity fabrics not accepted due to additional maintenance (washing) required. EU3/Merv 5 or better filtration required.

-Uniform microperforation (cooling, isothermal/makeup air only)-Directional (short throw heating, cooling, ventilating)

(b.) Laser Cut Perforations/holes (comfort, medium, & long throw)-3/16” – 3” diameter (project dependent)-Laser cut (punching method not acceptable)-location, number and size determined by manufacturer

(c.) Small textile nozzles (medium to long throw)- ¾”, 1”, 1 1/2”-ultrasonically welded to duct from factory-made from same material as duct

(c.) Large Textile nozzles (long to very long throw, high velocity).- 3” minimum diameter, spacing as determined by design-Smaller Plastic nozzles not accepted as equal due to fire/smoke, throw and sound requirements- each nozzle must include internal adjustable damper- Adjustable and Directional nozzles are available, must specify on plans or schedule.- location, number and size determined by manufacturer
