First Annual Waggle Dance to Benefit Green Sanctuary Community Apiary, at Awbury Arboretum: Friday August 10th

What’s a Waggle Dance? In nature, it’s the highly developed language of Honey Bees. At Awbury, it’s a chance to dance on the porch to live Gypsy Jazz while supporting your localCommunity Apiary.

It’s true: Bees can communicate complex information about resources and directions to therest of the hive with just a waggle. Dance is their form of survival social networking.

On Friday, August 10th we’re taking a lesson from the bees and creating some socialnetworking fun with our First Annual Waggle Dance, open to friends, neighbors, supporters, and the curious. Bring the whole family and learn more about Green SanctuaryCommunity Apiary, home to four educational hives and roughly 200,000 honeybees.

Just like an old‐fashioned summer social, the Waggle Dance will feature light refreshments, lightning bugs, and live music. You’ll also get to sample organic honey harvested from thehives, and learn about our Mead Making Club and upcoming beekeeping classes.

At $15.00 per adult, and $5.00 per child, our waggle dance is great deal for a family night out. Reserve a table for six for just $50.00.

The fun starts at 6:00 p.m. and goes until 10:00 p.m, giving plenty of time to mingle withresident beekeeper, Anaiis Salles, and the apiary’s hive stewards.
