« Innovation at the heart of IT training » Serv ing businesses and local autho r it ies s ince 1965 L’Ecole Supérieure d’Informatique (E.S.I.), also called “SUPINFO” was founded in Paris in 1965 by a French alumnus of the Ecole Supérieure d’Electricité (E.S.E.) also known as “SUPELEC”. Even in the early years of computing, he had the desire to give France a Grande Ecole dedicated to Information Technology. SUPINFO thus became the first French private higher education school specializing in this field. The school, French State accredited by decree on January 10th 1972 counts in 2008 over 5,000 alumni. The principal aim of The International Institute of Information Technology is to train immediately operational top-level professionals, specialized in Information Technologies (IT) and Communication (ITC). It issues an “International Master of Science”, the highest level French State accredited diploma which grants its holder the quality of Expert in computing and information systems. The #1 French computing schoo l According to a recent independent poll organized by Taylor Nelson Sofres (Study conducted in July 2007 on a representative group of businesses with over 50 employees regarding higher education schools in Information Technology in France), it appears that SUPINFO has become the computing school which enjoys the largest rate of recognition in its field. Two out of three companies know about the school and it is in the lead preceding the most prestigious French Engineer schools. In terms of qualitative valuation of its training, SUPINFO is ranked among the Top 5 French schools of engineering, in 4th position just behind the prestigious Polytechnique and Les Mines schools. On top of this, the fact that the school enjoys the largest number of students in training, the largest number of graduates per year in its category in France as of 2007 and the largest network of schools with 27 schools in mainland France as well as in the French overseas departments, undoubtedly makes SUPINFO the leader in France in the field of computing schools. The recognition o f the Info rmation Techno logy Industry leaders The school has long been accredited and supported by the IT world leaders who recognize the quality of the specialized training it offers in the field of computer science and new technologies. Partnership agreements have been signed in the last ten years between the school and main IT businesses such as Microsoft (world leader in software), Oracle (world largest enterprise software company), Cisco Systems (world leader in communication networks) as well as IBM, Sun Microsystems, Mandriva, Apple and Novell, to train students and offer worldwide recognized professional certifications on their technologies. SUPINFO is today an accredited test and official international certification centre which organizes over 1650 official tests each week, making the school one of the biggest certification centre in

It is also an excellent opportunity for Business Objects to prepare new classes of future developers for the technology used in BI, and to become an attractive place when they are coming on the marketplace.” Computing techno logies dedicated to education Laptops, Tablet PC, iPod, virtual board, numerical work space and e-learning mean the school is operational 24 hours a day, 7 days a week.

Since 1998, SUPINFO has launched a wide program aimed at modernizing the education by providing students, their families, teachers and business partners with the latest technologies in the field of e-learning. The main SUPINFO tool “Campus Booster” is available at all times and allows instant communication between the student communities who make up the SUPINFO worldwide network. It provides them with unlimited online access to the entire curriculum from anywhere in the world through a simple Internet connection.

Today, all SUPINFO students are equipped with a laptop and enjoy wireless access to the school’s network, all over the world. The vast majority of the educational materials are available in numeric form. All the classrooms are equipped with video projectors and Tablet PCs have replaced the traditional blackboard.

Foreign languages (English, German, Spanish, Italian, Dutch, Japanese and Chinese) are taught through the use of a state-of-the-art e-learning platform available 24 hours a day, 7 days a week and which includes pronunciation exercises, voice recognition and teacher monitoring.

SUPINFO educational labo rato r ies have become pro fessional references Knowledge boosters created in partnership with the main actors of the IT industry have become a reference for businesses and local authorities.

SUPINFO is not about competition. The one who has the knowledge must teach the one who hasn’t.

This philosophy is at the heart of our school’s educational system and aims at making all SUPINFO graduates not only holders of the knowledge but actors in the transmission of this same knowledge.

All SUPINFO students can be a part of the school’s life but also of the school’s educational system. Through the educational laboratories created in partnership with the IT world leaders (in France the Microsoft, Cisco, Linux, Oracle, Apple, Sun and Mandriva laboratories are hosted and managed by SUPINFO), deserving students are trained by anticipation on the technologies they are most interested in and are then involved in the teaching process. Thus, after acquiring knowledge and know-how, SUPINFO students are taught to impart their knowledge: a quality which appears essential to SUPINFO in order to guaranty it provides businesses with professionals who are not only operational but able to manage teams and major projects.

The students who are members of the SUPINFO laboratories regularly publish articles on their research on the laboratories’ Internet websites in order to make their works known to the students’ community of other schools and also to businesses.

Some laboratories have become, in France, reference sites for some IT leaders. www.labo-cisco.com

“International at the heart of our students training” A wide presence in France, which justi f ies an International expansion For many years, the school has worked in partnership with Napier University in Edinburg, and Oxford Brookes University in England, both recognized in their own country for the excellence of their teaching in Information Technologies (IT). The SUPINFO syllabus is recognised in certain educational establishments in the UK, which means students can undertake a double or even triple degree (Bachelors Honours and Masters) at a British university. These agreements are totally unique in that they make foreign studies readily accessible to all since a SUPINFO student who takes advantage of the mobility options available to him will have nothing extra to pay. It is in that context that some SUPINFO students put forward their wish for a school which would be widely represented both nationally and internationally and would allow them to study in France but also in the Overseas French departments and abroad. Thus, the objective of SUPINFO went from trying to find mainland, French overseas department and foreign students willing to relocate to Paris in order to pursue their education to the development of a unique collaboration between SUPINFO and various regions both in France and in countries around the world. The aim was to create a network of Higher Education schools in Computer Science “SUPINFO” which would grant a unique internationally recognized Master diploma recognized internationally. A growing concern in France and wo r ldwide that stands out f rom the rest with 38 schoo ls in 2008 The SUPINFO network has 27 schools in France… SUPINFO A lsace in Strasburg, SUPINFO Aquitaine in Bordeaux, SUPINFO Auvergne in Clermont-Ferrand, SUPINFO Burgundy in Macon, SUPINFO Br ittany in Brest, Rennes and Saint-Malo, SUPINFO Champagne-Ardenne in Reims and Troyes, SUPINFO Languedoc-Roussi l lon in Montpellier, SUPINFO L imousin in Limoges, SUPINFO Lo r raine in Metz, SUPINFO Midi-Pyrenees in Toulouse, SUPINFO Nord-Pas de Calais in Lille and Valenciennes, SUPINFO Normandy in Caen, SUPINFO PACA in Marseille and Nice, SUPINFO Pays de la Lo ire in Nantes, SUPINFO Region Centre in Orleans and Tours, SUPINFO Rhone-A lps , in Lyon and Grenoble, SUPINFO Car ibbean in Guadeloupe and in Martinique (French overseas departments), SUPINFO Indian Ocean in Reunion Island;

… and 11 in the rest of the world: SUPINFO Belgium in Brussels, SUPINFO Canada in Montreal, SUPINFO China in Beijing, Tianjin, Qingdao and Zhenjiang, SUPINFO United Arab Emirates in Abu Dhabi, SUPINFO Spain in Madrid, SUPINFO Morocco in Casablanca, SUPINFO UK in London, SUPINFO USA in San Francisco, California. SUPINFO's international development continues in the rest of the world with the opening of schools in Brazil, Costa Rica, Mexico, Portugal, Italy, Tunisia, Mauritius, South Africa and even Russia. National and international mobi l i ty fo r students Each year of study can be carried out at one of the SUPINFO schools in France or worldwide without extra charge. With its own network of schools, SUPINFO is the first French engineering establishment to offer its students the chance to undertake each academic year in one of its schools or partner universities in France or abroad. A student may, for example, begin his studies in the preparatory cycle in his home area, then move to a different area of France for a year before going to a university in the UK for his first engineering year, spend his second year in Martinique and finally finish at one of the SUPINFO schools in China. Five years of study - five areas of the world visited and a wealth of experience and knowledge accumulated along the way. In order to make studies more financially accessible SUPINFO has decreased its fees for the fourth consecutive year. With a significant reduction of € 1,000 per year and per student, this brings the costs to € 4,990 per annum with no increase mid-course and irrespective of which SUPINFO school or country is chosen by the student (France, USA, China, UK, Canada etc.).

Ever more affo rdable studies and an impressive 90% success r ate French State accredited, SUPINFO can enrol French students holding grants from the French State or French Regional grants. The number of such students has risen to over 30% of the total of the registered students and SUPINFO is proud to be able to offer a quality education to students from all social backgrounds. Many students can also apply for regional grants available through the Regional and General councils in their own region. The school also offers over 100 internal grants which are awarded to the most deserving students and range from € 3,000 to € 5,000. SUPINFO has also signed an agreement with HSBC to provide its students with student loans without the need for parental guaranties allowing students to finance their studies independently. Moreover, SUPINFO works to regularly decrease its tuition fees thanks to business funding original agreements. From 2008 tuition fees will be of € 4,990 irrelevant of the year of integration. On top of its wish to make studies more widely affordable, SUPINFO can report that, thanks to its selection process which takes place at the time of admission as opposed to during the course of the studies, over 90% of its students admitted in first year graduate after completing the five year long curriculum A successfu l educational method with over 5,000 A lumni and over 6,000 students enro l led in 2008 A 100% placement rate with an average salary of € 35,000 upon graduating The figures speak for themselves: since 1965, SUPINFO has trained over 5,000 students and 100% of the SUPINFO graduates find a job within a month of graduating. The average starting salary is in excess of € 35,000. With over 6,000 students enrolled for 2008, SUPINFO confirms its fast expansion.

“From the leading institute of information technology in France… … to the leading institute of information technology in the world.”

A simple idea simple: grouped under the name of « SUPINFO », a wide and highly developed range of innovative computer training material covering all aspects of information technology and communication for people of all ages and companies of all sizes. From local tr ain ing to e-learn ing SUPINFO’s entire training package which was originally conceived with face-to-face teaching in mind has recently been adapted to e-learning by means of an innovative platform available in French and English. From 2007 it will be possible to follow the entire SUPINFO course remotely. The marketing of this exciting new product will make it possible to reach considerably more of the general public concerned with computer studies. From in it ial tr ain ing to pro fessional tr ain ing fo r adults With incontestable legitimacy in the sector of information technology in France and enjoying high credibility and academic recognition in the subject of initial training, by making use of existing academic resources and laboratories, SUPINFO has created in Paris a technical training course aimed at adults and leading to a certificate in partnership with worldwide leaders in computer sciences. With the success of this range of training products, the school wants to pursue the action by developing for all sites in France and throughout the world a training tool which would bring recognition to a widespread market. From in it ial tr ain ing to ser v ice tr ain ing fo r young and o ld al ike SUPINFO wishes to share the experience and expertise of its students and teaching staff with the public. The school is thus offering training with coaching and home services for the general public based on a personalised products: SUPINFO Family aimed not only at primary to secondary school children in order to fill a gap in the National Education curriculum but also to adults and seniors. It will also provide technical assistance to families in their homes. The training services will mainly be carried out by SUPINFO students. In France, these services will lie within the legislative scope of services available to people making it possible for the recipients to deduct half of the fees from their tax bills.

Making the dream come true… All of the experiences already undertaken by SUPINFO have been successful:

Educational success first, since by offering the same quality of teaching in all its schools, SUPINFO can guaranty the homogeneity of the level of excellence reached by all its graduates in all its schools. There is only one school, SUPINFO. All its students, irrelevant of where they are located and of their place of study are SUPINFO students. The school provides all its students with e-learning training tools and a regional campus allowing them to follow their studies without having to worry about having to travel each morning to the original site in Paris. There is only one school and one diploma and students within easy reach of the students… in their own region or in China, London, Montreal, San Francisco, Brussels, Abu Dhabi, Madrid, Casablanca et soon in other countries in worldwide.

Technological success, with the creation of an international SUPINFO school network and a team of professionals and students rallying to provide all with open-school and e-learning training solutions, a numerical Campus, video-conferences, group work… SUPINFO is the only school in France, which owns its own transcontinental private network – VPN (Virtual Private Network) –, which links all its schools and students through a high-speed Internet connection. For example, SUPINFO Paris is connected 24 hours a day to SUPINFO in Nantes but also to SUPINFO in London, in Montreal or in China. SUPINFO has developed in partnership with France Telecom a VoIP international telephony system available to all its students and provides them with a telephone number where they can be reached at all times from any telephone. More importantly, it allows them to call other SUPINFO students wherever they are located in the world free of charge. SUPINFO has also set up an exchange system for teachers, laboratory assistants and students who regularly move between the various school locations ensuring a high quality homogeneous education.

Finally, success in terms of promotion of the Information Technologies (IT) and Computer Science in regions in France and abroad with the opening of schools which have generated amazing communication opportunities and economical expansion for these regions. This is probably the main reason behind the enthusiasm, which has built up in French regions and abroad and led to the unconditional support of local and international authorities around the implantation of new SUPINFO schools in their regions. Because the task of training men remains and will always remain at the heart of the development of territories. The International Institute of Information Technology, SUPINFO is intent on becoming the world leader both in the field of general training as well as in the field of vocational training, which is increasingly important during all the stages of life (long life training) and from a very young age. SUPINFO remains convinced that, to better prepare for the future, the Information Technologies and Communication represent a wealth of opportunities for exchanges and for the exporting of intellectual performance in France and in the rest of the world. Alick MOURIESSE, a SUPINFO Alumnus, has been the President of the SUPINFO group since 1999. Today he shares one dream with his team: to allow the school, through the development of international projects, to stand out in a global context as an example of adaptability, collaboration and success and to become the world #1 in the field of Information Technologies training.
