CHARLOTTE DIETETIC ASSOCIATION NEWSLETTER FALL 2019 Charlotte Dietetic Association Newsletter FALL 2019 And just like that, Fall has come and gone. Is it just me, or do the Fall months go by so fast? We had two member meetings with great turnout, a journal club, and a volunteer event! CDA stays busy! I am blown away by the participation and desire to learn more about so many different areas of dietetics within the Charlotte district. Our board has been working hard to come up with themes and ideas that keep everyone interested within CDA. Upcoming over the next few months, we hope to have a member meeting highlighting the food service side of dietetics. In February, journal club is partnering with Diversify Dietetics to engage more on diversity within the nutrition realm. Don’t forget to save the date for the Charlotte Regional Meeting on March 6th! I hope you all will join the CDA Board at Levine Children’s Hospital on December 18th, from 5-8 pm, as we decorate gingerbread houses with patients. During this time we will also have a holiday social, open to all members, to socialize and network. Cookies will definitely be involved. All we ask is you bring a canned good donation for the Second Harvest Food Bank. If all of this sounds so fun to you, I encourage you to start thinking about if you would be interested in joining the CDA board for the next year. Call for nominations will be here before you know it. Do not hesitate to reach out if you have any questions about President’s Pen Jennifer Goodman, RDN, LDN
