Well the year has flown by once again and as you can see the committee
has had a changing of the guard so to speak. I would like to thank the outgoing
committee for all their time and effort spent towards the club and it’s members.
For those wanting to compete at any official competitions or participate in MADEC
rally days, you will need to pay your membership before riding. This is most
important due to insurance issues, no card no ride!!
We have had a wonderful year and with all the fund raising efforts the club
has purchased a shed and had it raised, a new trailer for the dressage arena’s
and new jump wings. Madec was able to assist these new purchases with the
successful running of the CT/Dressage Day, Showjumping Day and ably cooking
for the Police Charity Golf day. During the year we were also fortunate enough to
receive funding from the Bush Market Committee and numerous grant
applications. This keeps us in a very stable financial situation for the coming year
and we would like to hear from you all if you have any ideas for the MADEC wish
list.
MADEC would like to thank the following committee members for their
dedication and time spent helping tirelessly over the past year to make the club a
better and safer club for all members. A huge thank you to Anette Allan, Roslyn
Burns, Lee-ann Campagnolo, Bri Seaton, and Tamara Watson. To all those
members who are unaware Bri Seaton has taken a leave of absence from
HRCAV Level assessment.
Members have been travelling some great distances to get their mounts
ready for the up and coming dressage and show season. Fabulous results are
coming in and can be viewed inside. With TTT just around the corner, MADEC
combinations will be able to show that we have talent to burn!! Good luck Anette,
Maddie, Julie and James strut your stuff!!
A HUGE CONGRATULATIONS goes to Tamara Watson, Nicole Smith
and Bri Seaton as these ladies are all expecting babies in the New Year and we
wish them all the best. I think it is in that order?? Not the four legged kind either!!
This will be my final newsletter as Amanda Lovick has taken over the reins
for the coming year. If you have any news or articles you wish to have printed in
the newsletter please make this easier for Amanda and get your
results to her email address at least a week before the end of
the month. CONGRATULATIONS also to Amanda on
her marriage to Kane Lovick.
Enjoy your year ahead all the best, good luck
and take care.
Jane.

After much talking and consideration all team
members decided to travel to Werribee on the Friday night of TTT. Most of us left between
one and three on Friday, to get down and have a ride to settle the horses in and get
ourselves organised. As Melbourne would have it, we hit traffic at peak hour and the ring road became the biggest
traffic jam ever!! Finally we were off and running and we virtually all hit WPNEC at the same time. Go figure!!
Unfortunately no one told the gate keeper that MADEC had paid their share of fees for camping and some
confusion unfolded. All sorted and we were getting things organised not long after.
Combinations from MADEC were Kerryn Gooding riding Bamborough Brandy Snap, Jane Parks riding
Parkview Imagine, Julie King riding Runaway Bandit and Robyn Reed riding Dooley for team Mansfield Matrix.
(Robyn so ably filled the vacant position of fourth member. Her speedy 16hr dash to get kids, verification, truck,
horse and gear organised is to be commended). MADEC associate riders currently members of Cobram/Barooga
and Acheron Valley ARC, Nicole Grey riding Smarty Class, Nicole Bertalli riding Frisky Time ( Nicole Bertalli’s
daughter) Tess Storey riding Sweetwater Tapdancer made up the composite team Bush Chicks.
A reasonable nights sleep and everyone was off and running to do cards and walk their designated
courses. Oh my god Level 4 are jumping in the indoor first up!!! Well I think most of us were pretty happy with
the rounds, some rails but overall a terrific result for everyone.
There were four rings in operation the whole day, one indoor and three outdoor all on sand. The
events offered were the A2, AM7 and the Two Phase.
RESULTS: Mansfield Matrix: Bush Chicks
AM7: AM7:
4A. Julie riding Bandit 6th 4B. Tess and Tappy 19th.

Jane and Lily attended the Euroa Show on Saturday 22nd October. With
the weather looking a little dubious the day ended up being perfect con-
ditions for the show. Jane and Lily competed in the Irish Draught & Irish
Sport Horse classes on offer and the HRCAV ring. They had a fabulous
show to say the least. In the IDSH classes the combination placed 1st
led over 5yrs and Champion Led IDSH, 1st ridden over 5yrs, 1st Horse most suitable for Dressage, and
2nd Ridden Performance Horse and Champion Ridden IDSH. Also a 1st in the special ridden event for
all X-bred breeds.
In the HRCAV ring the pair were awarded 1st Led Mount
over 16hh, 1st HRCAV rider L 1&2 and Reserve Champion
Rider, 1st Ridden Mount L 1& 2 and Reserve Champion Rid-
den Mount, 3rd MMS L 1 & 2 and 3rd Best Educated L 1 & 2.
With these results Jane and Lily received the High Point Award
of an embroidered cotton rug sponsored by Diamond Creek
Rugs of Euroa. A fabulous show with great footing and good
working arena’s, unfortunately parking can be a little snug but
workable. Worth while putting on the calendar.
MADEC would like to wish our team all the best for the
TTT Dressage on the 5th/6th November.
We have Maddie Allan riding Southgate June L2, James Badenoch-Reed
riding Tully L3, Anette Allan riding Gorserella Matilla L3 and Julie King
riding Runaway Bandit L4.
We know you will do your club proud. Enjoy your
experience and most of all have
fun.

A glorious day greeted MADEC members for the final Box Tree
Dressage and Showjumping day held at Roslyn and Robin Burns
property just outside Merrijig. Ever reliable Dressage Judge Louise Bayly-
Jones was in fine form and was able to give some valuable tips for those
participating in the levels offered. This gave members a great
opportunity to get some feedback for up and coming Dressage events
and practice for Showjumping events that remain on the calendar.
Results of the Dressage are determined by a rider competing in their
allocated Level with places calculated on percentage. In the
Showjumping phase everyone jumps the same course at the height for
their level and places are worked on times in the jump off.
