Wharton-Smith Construction Group has been an interictal part of our Central Florida Community since 1984. Their founders Bill Wharton and George Smith built a business that has grown as Central Florida has grown. Wharton-Smith has spent three decades building our communities-- our schools, our fire houses, our police departments and water treatment facilities- our parks, our sporting facilities, universities and our entertainment venues. But Wharton-Smith has also supported our communities with generous giving and community involvement. They have built a culture among their over 600 employees that focuses on giving back to the places they call home. As a result, Wharton-Smith supports over 300 organizations a year including Kid’s House, Leadership Seminole (where their founder George Smith) is a “Legend”, Coalition for the Homeliness, Boys and Girls Club, the Central Florida Zoo and Habitat for Humanity just to name a few. But no relationship has lasted longer than the over 20-year relationship that Wharton-Smith has with the Scouts. Their commitment to scouting goes beyond it’s near $200,000 in donations, but in countless hours of time developing sponsorship programs, supporting camps and in the personal time commitments of its employees.
