1871 – The State of Arkansas created the Arkansas Industrial University – Now UAF

1887 – Hatch Act – Authorized Agricultural Experiment Stations

1914 – Smith Lever Act – Authorized the Cooperative Extension Service

1959 – UA System created the Division of Agriculture 1962 – McIntire-Stennis Act – Authorized the School of

Forest Resources (housed at UA-Monticello) 1977 – AES Grants Office created to handle USDA
