Report on Preparation of The 20th APEC SME Ministerial Meeting and The 1st APEC Joint
Ministerial Meeting on SME and Women
Introduction
• Recognizing the significant contribution of women in SMEs to each APEC economy, Indonesia is ready to host the 1st APEC Joint Ministerial Meeting on SME and Women.
• The joint meeting will be conducted in the morning session prior to the 20th APEC SME Ministerial Meeting in the afternoon.
Objective and Agenda of Joint Meeting
• To discuss two main topics in relation with promoting women owned businesses especially SMEs, namely: (1) Promotion of interpreneurial culture and (2) Increasing access to finance. We hope several areas of actions may be discussed by ministers under the two topics.
• To provide a cordinated and integrated approach to address commonly cited challanges faced by women and SMEs.
Agenda of The 20th APEC SME Ministerial Meeting
(Afternoon session)
• This meeting will only discuss how to enhance SME global competitiveness particularly in empowering SMEs to expand international market.
• Every minister is voluntary sharing his or her best practices to empower SMEs to expand to international market.
Venue and Date
• Both meetings will be conducted at Westin Hotel and Resort, Nusa Dua Bali.
• The meeting will be conducted on September 7, 2013 in Nusantara Room.
• The joint meeting will be conducted from 9.00-12.00 ended by lunch (morning session)
• The 20th APEC SME Ministerial Meeting will be conducted from 14.00-17.15 and followed by press conference (afternoon session)

Other Matters
• On September 7, 2013 spouse program will be arranged to visit some SMEs and also enjoy Bali Agung Show (culture performance) at Taman Safari.
• All ministers are voluntary invited to see the APEC SME Exhibition at Nusa Dua Convention Center.
• Exhibition last from September 4 – 7, 2013.• All Ministers (and by invitation only) are invited for Gala
Dinner hosted by Minister Responsible for Women Empowerment on September 6, 2013 at Mulia Hotel (Dress code Batik).
• Dinner for all Ministers +5 at Temple Garden, Westin Hotel on September 7, 2013 (Dress code Batik).
