The National Conservation Campaign was launched to

coincide with the international Earth Day which is

celebrated on the 22 April of each year, in response to

the Qatar National Vision 2030, and in order to fulfill the

mission of KM in the provision of water and electricity

service and quality, and preserve the environment and

natural resources that God blessed us with, and out of

our belief in the importance of community participation

of all segments of society to be hand in hand in

achieving the ultimate goal of saving electricity, water

and sustainability of the desired energy

Power Factor

Conservation Plan for Tarsheed 16

The relationship between resistive and reactive load component is called Power factor. It is the numerical way of representing the proportions' of real

power kW and apparent power kVA. Power factor is the cosine F of angle

Power Factor

The power factor of Bulk Customers/High consuming customers will be monitored and Non complying cases will have to pay penal charges.

The power factor of all customers will be revised to 0.9 lag or better (0.9 to unity)effective from the date of publication of the amendments in the KM

regulations.

Phase out of Inefficient Lamps

Conservation Plan for Tarsheed

Consultants must be notified by Kahramaa to stop the use of to incandescent lamp in the design and plans of buildings, as well as to include the ban of importing incandescent lamps In the first stage is to stop bulbs of 100 watts and 75 watts, followed by a second

stage is to stop bulbs of 60 watts, then the third stage of 40-watt bulbs

All studies point to problems related to incandescent lamp, especially in the environmental field

The project aims to stop the incandescent lamp as these cause high temperature, which may be the cause of home fires and the energy consumption is significantly higher

compared to energy-saving lamps
