PRESENTATION ONWIRELESS AND PASSWORD BASED

APPLIANCES CONTROL SYSTEM

SWAMI VIVEKANAND INSTITUTE OF ENGINEERING AND TECHNOLOGY

Page 2: PRESENTATION.ppt

IntroductionThis project mainly focuses on the controlling of home appliances and providing security when the user is away from the place. The system uses wireless technology to revolutionize the standards of living. This system provides ideal solution to the problems faced by home owners in daily life. The system is wireless therefore more adaptable and cost-effective. The HACS system provides security against intrusion. The aim of the paper is to investigate a cost effective solution that will provide controlling of home appliances remotely and will also enable home security against intrusion in the absence of home owner.

when the device is switched on, L.C.D. displays the text “select the device”, we can select any device among the attached 3 devices. When the device is selected from keyboard, signal is sent to receiver section through wireless link. At receiver section r.f. module decodes the signals and passes to microcontroller. Then the L.C.D. at transmitter section displays “enter password”. As every device has its own password, now to access a particular device password can be entered from the keyboard. Now if the password entered matches with the password of device, then device is switched on. But in case the password fed is wrong, then it can be re-entered and device can be accessed. In case the password entered second time is also wrong, then the mobile attached to it’s transmitter section sends the message to the owner of the system, to inform about the usage of the system. Hence, this system is provides the complete security of the connected devices usage.

Transmitter section:We control the appliances through transmitter section through the input device ie. keypad which is basically the group of switches. Which are use to input the data ie. To select the devices and enter their respective passwords , to microcontroller(89S52),the current status and data input to microcontroller is displayed on the LCD ,as the microcontroller’s input an output data is transmitted parallely but the output data of the microcontroller is converted to serial output by using the HT122E (Encoder) and then the data is send to the receiving end by using r.f. module. And these devices are supplied with power from the 8 volt d.c. battery.

Receiver Section:In the receiver section, data is received serially and then passed to the HT122D(decoder) which converts the serially received data to the parallel form. Which is input to the microcontroller (89s52) which is further connected to the appliances through 3 relays 6Volts each, transmitter BC547 is used to control the relays. Relays are basically induction based switches used to control the switching of devices connected to it. 12Volts(1 ampere) ac power supply is used to drive the receiver section.

The basic level of home appliance control and remote monitoring has been implemented. The system is extensible and more levels can be further developed using automatic motion/glass breaking detectors so the solution can be integrated with these and other detection systems. In case of remote monitoring other appliances can also be monitored such that if the level of temperature rises above certain level then it should generate SMS or sensors can also be applied that can detect gas, smoke or fire in case of emergency the system will automatically generate SMS.
