Revenue Assurance Topics

Revenue Assurance - Introduction
• Despite strong effort by most operators in the past year, revenue leakage is still
present
• Leakages of Revenue are real and hit everybody
• Reasons are as manifold as the business is
• Even small percentages easily add up to significant amounts (a loss of only
0,2 % of a big international Telco may reflect the turnover of a small Telco!)
• New technologies and services reveal new leakage sources
• Borders between Fraud and Revenue Assurance are sometimes difficult to
draw. However, RA can help identifying fraud attempts which might
otherwise not be detected
• Actions makes only sense with sufficient Know How – RA systems may
indicate leakage but humans have to start appropriate action
- 16 - Confidential Information - No Reproduction Permitted © N-PULSE GmbH
Revenue Assurance - Methodology
• RA requirements vary heavily from operator to operator
• Type of business (retail vs. b2b), Maturity level and technology have strong
impact on individual RA needs and focus
• Hence, there cannot be “one” RA best practice for each and every Telco
• We have taken this into account and with our experience conducted a RA
methodology that allows to adopt to various operator situations:
Alignment with TMF RA best practices and standards
Questionnaires and guidelines that allow for a rapid analysis of current needs
and sweetspots
Huge database of RA requirements to check completeness and provide
suggestions
Templates to quickly collect and condense data from various sources
• We typically perform introductory workshops to better understand corporate
strategy, goals and current needs and environment. This is essential for tailoring
specific proposals geared towards the Telco’s individual needs.
