Thesis

There are lots of religions in the world and Islam is one of them. Islam like any other religions loves peace in the world and doesn't allow violence, but many people that don't know about Islam define it in a wrong way. This results in many misconceptions and stereotypes about Islam and Muslims.

Silm and Salam which means peace.

Submission to God.

A Muslim is supposed to live in peace and harmony with its environment.

Muslims are not to be confused with Arabs.

An Arab could be a Muslim, a Christian or an atheist.

Arab - any person who adopts the Arabic language.

Quran (the Holy Book of Islam) is written in Arabic.

Muhammad is the messenger of god.

He was born in 570, common era, in Makkah, Arabia.

Muhammad is the very last Prophet of God to mankind.

There were 124 prophets in total including Muhammad (saw).

God instructed the Muslims to practice what they believe in. In Islam there are five pillars, namely:

Shahada – Creed

Salat – Prayers

Saum – Fasting

Zakat – Purifying tax.

Conclusion

Throughout my research I understood that one person cannot represent his race, religion or the society he lives in. But most people aren’t like this that’s why there are so many stereotypes about different races and religions.
