Reservoir Leasing Policy.The leasing policy adopted by the State Government videits Resolution dated 25th February 2004 has thefollowing provisions:
Reservoir up to 20 Ha earmarked for FFDA beneficiaries. Reservoir up to 200 Ha in Saurashtra and North Gujarat Reservoir up to 200 Ha in Saurashtra and North Gujarat
Districts are earmarked for FFDA. BPL Co -op Societies /SGSY groups are given pricep g p g p
concession against highest bid in leasing of reservoirs. Local co operative societies and SGSY are given
f i th l i lipreference in the leasing policy. Last six years water spread area of reservoir is
considered for computing the effective water spread areaco s de ed o co put g t e e ect e ate sp ead a eaof the reservoir and up set price is calculated accordingly.

• The duration of Lease shall be for 5 years initially andis extendable up to a Maximum period of 10 yearsis extendable up to a Maximum period of 10 years.
Tribal Areas:• Water sheets in the Tribal Areas shall be reserved for
individual tribal fishermen (up to 20 ha.), theirco-operatives (21 to 1000 ha). Reservoirs above 1000ha to the federation of tribal co-operatives/ local tribalha. to the federation of tribal co operatives/ local tribalco-operatives.
Non-tribal Areas:• All water sheets above 200 ha. shall be leased out
inviting tenders to the highest bidder
Village pond Fisheries Village ponds are very good resource to undertake
effective fish culture which can generate employment atvillage level.
The State Government has formulated a policy on15 7 2003 to lease out village ponds for a period of 1015.7.2003. to lease out village ponds for a period of 10years.
As per the new policy village ponds of concerned Districtare to be auctioned by DDO by inviting tender.
Assistance as per the FFDA pattern is extended to thefish farmers and the revenue realized will be allocated tofish farmers and the revenue realized will be allocated tothe concerned village panchayat.
Village panchayat can utilize it for other developmentalactivities of the village.

Lease Rent @ Rs. 250/= per ha for the first three years ,which will be doubled from Forth year onwards for individualybeneficiaries up to 5 Ha
Lease rent @ Rs 1000 /- per Ha for more than 5 ha up toth hi h ill b d bl d f f th dthree years which will be doubled from fourth year onwards.
Individual beneficiary entitled for 5 ha ,cooperatives – 50 haand Industrial houses- 100 ha.
