BACKGROUND
Breast cancer is :
� originating from the breast tissue, most commonly from the
innering of milk ducts or the lobules that supply the ducts with
milk.
�commonest overall cancer as well as the commonest cancer in
women amongst all races from the age of 20 years in Malaysia
from 2003 to 2005.
� over the years from 1993 to 2003, there were a total of 1818
breast cancer patients in the University Hospital.

STATEMENT OF THE PROBLEM
PURPOSE OF THE STUDY
symptoms vary widely from lumps to swelling to skin changes and many breast cancers haveno obvioussymptoms at all. It is important that steps be taken aware the factor and risks about
breast cancer among UiTM students. However, before any action can be taken, there must be
a clear understanding of the signs and symptoms to watch for and how to manage any fears
about breast cancer.
� determine the extent to which FSPU students are aware of the symptoms of
breast cancer.
� determine the extent to which FSPU students are aware about who are at
higher risk of getting breast cancer.
� determine the extent to which FSPU students are aware of the treatments
f or breast cancer.

A. The extent to which FSPU students are aware of the symptoms of breast cancer
A total of 50 FSPU students answered the questionnaire, providing data about the student¶s awarenessof symptoms of BreastCancer.
Figure 1 shows the percentagesof students who are aware the symptoms of Breast Cancer based on their answered in questionnaire.
Blood and pus coming from the breast nipples
Lumps inside the breast
Lumps underneath the armpit
Tingling, itching, increased sensitivity, burning, and pain in the breast
Pain, swelling, warmth and redness throughout the breast
Nipple inversion
Mild flaking of the nipple skin

B. The extent to which FSPU students are aware about who are at higher risk of getting breast cancer
A total of 50 FSPU students answered the questionnaire, providing data about the students awareness of who are at higher risk of
getting breast cancer. Figure 3 shows the percentages of students who are aware of Breast Cancer and higher risk based on their
answered in questionnaire.

CONCLUSIONS
� Most of the students of FSPU are aware about breast cancer.
� Most of the student aware about the sypthoms, treatments, risk factors and how effective
breast cancer patient in the different stages.
RECOMMENDATIONS
� Students of FSPU should be more aware about the symphtoms, treatsment,
risk factors and how effective breast cancer patient in the different stages
�students should learn to be more self dicipline f or doing regular basis check up
and practise a healthy lifestyle in order to have an ideal way of life.
