Preparing for your Interview with TorFX

If you’re asked to come in for an interview, there are a couple of things you can do to improve your chances of seeing off the competition.

Make sure you know how to find us

Our offices are based in one of the biggest (and some might argue, ugliest) buildings in Penzance, but even people who know the area well have struggled to find us in the past. There’s nothing worse than not being able to find your way to an interview, and arriving late is likely to leave you flustered. We’re more than happy to help you find us so if you need any help with directions just ask!

Do a bit of research

During the interview we’ll run through everything you need to know about TorFX and what the position we’re advertising entails, but doing a bit of research into the company before you start could give you an edge. We don’t expect you to know everything about us, but having an idea about who we are and what we do can be helpful when we’re discussing what part you’d play in Team Tor.

If you’ve secured an interview with us, we look forward to meeting you. Good luck! If you’ve secured an interview with us, we look forward to meeting you.

Practise

If you’re not sure how well you interview, ask a friend or family member to run through common interview questions with you. Being asked to describe your strengths and weaknesses on the spot can be a bit daunting so taking some time to prepare can make a big difference.

Don’t panic!

Interviews are always nerve wracking but there’s really no need to panic. We’re nice (promise) and in our interviews we just like to have a chat – we won’t be asking you to create presentations or do backflips or anything. If you’re really nervous let us know and we’ll do what we can to put you at ease.

If you’ve secured an interview with us, we look forward to meeting you. Good luck!
