    How to Prepare for Exams

Every person is born with a particular potential which is unique to him. People are of

different types and not all of them are brilliant students. Many work hard to get goodmarks, while others don't and yet manage to score well during examinations. There are

also students who study hard but don't get the desired percentage. How to prepare for

exams is a big question. Here are a few preparation tips to help students ace in exams:

    Top 10 Exam Preparation Tips

    Good Time Table

Before starting with the studies, students should design their own time-table which directs

all the material that has to be covered and tells them how much is needed to be studiedeach day. A schedule of every subject should be made with different priorities. Tough

subjects and the ones in which a student is weak should be given more hours, and easierones should be given less hours with sufficient intervals between each subject. The

timetable should very importantly have breaks in between.

    Loose that Fear

Fear and stress are one of the major factors which tend to become an obstacle in getting

high percentage. One should loose all the fear and free his mind.

Approximating a certain score to achieve is beyond our control .This fact also needs to be

understood by parents, who should not pressurize their children but rather boost up theirconfidence.

    Don't Cram, Make Notes

Students should let go off the cramming part as it is not a good method of studying.Instead of this, they should make short notes while studying. Cramming everything can

result in forgetting everything and making brief notes can help in remembering all points

    while revising the subject.

    Where to Study?

If the big question of where to study confuses you, the answer to it is very simple-study

in a place where you feel comfortable, relaxed and where you can concentrate properly. Ifyou can, study early morning, head to a library or any place where you find a quiet

    ambience.

    Trust God and Yourself

Students should meditate or pray well before the exam as it helps in relaxing their mind

and also provides immense energy and peace to the mind. And it is much important thatyou are confident about yourself of producing splendid result.

    Sleep and Eat Well

The biggest mistake students commit during exam time is that they don't sleep and eat

well. They think sleeping is a waste of time. They should believe in the fact that theyneed to sleep between 6-8 hours a day. They also need to take care of their diet. They

should try and avoid eat junk food, and instead include food which supplies continuous

energy to their brain for a longer period of time.

    Time to Study

Time is possibly the most important factor. According to a research conducted, humanbrain is in its most active state between 5 am to 8 am in the morning and in the evening

between 7 pm to 11 pm. Therefore, students who study during these timings have the

maximum retention power in comparison with others.

    Use Creative Techniques

If students find their subjects boring, they can convert their chapters into various types of

games such as repetition, flash cards and mnemonics. Students should sit with their

notebook and write over and over, draw flash cards with information on them and go overthem regularly, design funny rhymes or word associations to help remember the points.

    Never Cheat in Exam Hall

Students should always be advised by their parents as well their teachers as to not use any

kind of malpractice in exam hall as it may prove to be harmful for them and their future. If an answer is not known by them, they shouldn't attempt it as they have to prove no one

    but themselves.

    Write Neat and Present Well

When students write neatly and present their answer sheet in a proper way, they have

more chances of securing high marks. Many times the teacher is not able to read all the

answers but if she gets impressed by the way it has been presented then it woulddefinitely lead to less deduction of marks.

Quantitative Aptitude Test SSB LLB Entrance Exam

Aptitude tests are analytical ways of calculating how people accomplish tasks or react to

different situations. They have homogenized methods of conduction and scoring, due towhich results can be measured and correlated with others at the same tests. Administered

on computers, these tests help in confirming the professional and personal skills of a

    person.

    Preparation Tips for Aptitude Test

    Tip #1

As is rightly said "When you are not practicing, remember, someone somewhere ispracticing and when you meet him he will win". Practice as much as you can and

familiarize yourself with the types of questions so that there won't be any surprises on D-Day and it'll also help you know your areas of improvement.

    Tip #2

Be specific on your preparation, know very well what you are preparing for and

    concentrate on it specifically.

    Tip #3

To decide with the winner and loser in the aptitude tests results, it is not only aboutwhether you are able to answer the questions or not. It depends on how fast you are able

to answer them. And in order to be the winner, one should work on their speed with

    dedication.

    Tip #4

Books are said to be a man's best friend. Students need to get the best books available in

the market and thoroughly practice for their aptitude test. Try and solve as many sampletests, puzzles and quizzes available, in order to master the test.

    Tip #5

Don't ever stick to one question. If you feel that you are having difficulties in a particular

question, leave that and move on to others. There is no point in losing the opportunity to

answer questions that you know over the ones that you don't.

    Tip #6

Aptitude tests are cleared only with a fresh mind and body. Students need to understand

that they need at least 6 hours of sleep everyday and that there is no need to sit through awhole night especially the day before the exam.

    Tip #7

Ask whenever in doubt. If you get stuck while practicing or are unsure of types of

questions being asked, always make it a habit of consulting with your seniors or anyone

    else who is experienced enough.

    Tip #8

In order to prepare for such a test, one should first relax and not worry about the test too

much. The person should not be nervous or stressed out as this test is conducted to checkwhat one already knows and if he/she has the right skills.

    Tip #9

One can get through any aptitude test if he gets 60% of the questions right. So in order to

get your 60% always give the first 5 minutes to plan your approach i.e. don't just start

immediately after receiving the paper. Scrutinize the paper for 5 minutes and make an

approximate calculation of how many questions can be solved in the given time.

    Tip #10

Students are advised to not make any assumptions while attempting the test as it gives a

wrong impression of the student. Leave the question if you don't know the answer forsure but don't try and attempt it for the sake of attempting it.

    Aptitude:

Aptitude is the questions which are asked from basic mathematical concepts which we

have studied in our 8th to 10th class of our schools. They are very basic but little tricky to

understand the question. Once we understand the question clearly, it is half solved. All thebasic mathematical formulae and some concepts is the next half to solve the problem. The

problems which we study in our schools are more mathematical but the aptitude questions

are more real time problems. Only if you clear the aptitude test, you are allowed to sit forotherinterview process.

    Type of questions:

The aptitude questions are divided in to two categories. One is quantitative and other

one is analytical reasoning. Quantitative questions are more like number systems, ratios

and proportions, geometry, probability, algebra and so on. The analytical reasoningquestions are more like coding and decoding, clocks, calendars, directions, and so on.

The quantitative questions are the one which comes more in the aptitude exams when

compared to analytical reasoning questions. So concentrate much more on quantitativequestions. But analytical reasoning is also important as a whole.

    Learn concept wise:

If you start to prepare for your aptitude exam, you should have some plan well before

learning it. I till that plan how to study the aptitude questions. First of all, buy anyaptitude book which is available in the market. My suggestion is to buy R.S Agarwal

book which is very much useful for the aptitude exams. It is up to you to use any book,

but make sure that it explains the concepts well with more examples solved.

There are only 18 to 20 concepts in any aptitude book. Plan some reasonable time tofinish all these 20 concepts. If you are having no time to allocate more time to study the

aptitude, then spend at least 10 minutes daily to this aptitude questions. If you follow it

properly, you will be happy at the last. If you are in a leave and if you think that you canspend some more time in aptitude. Then allocate two days for each concept. One day for

understanding the whole concept and second day for practicing many questions in that

concept. So if you do like this, you can finish your aptitude preparation just within 40days. You will be surely happy after 40 days if you follow what I am telling here now.

    A day before exam:

If you are keen on clearing the aptitude exam, there is no way other than learning all the

concepts before your aptitude exam starts. But learning all the concepts is not just enoughto be confident. If you want to be more confident to clear in aptitude, then just search the

previous year aptitude questions of the company you are going for the interview.Download those previous year aptitude question papers and try to solve all those and

be prepared. If you solve the previous year question paper of that company, you will bemore confident in your side for the aptitude exam. Most of the companies follow some

pattern of questions as their aptitude questions.
