If you are reading this report, it is most likely because

you have heard of the potential therapeutic effects of

CBD, or know someone who has had their life changed

or saved because of CBD. Most everyone has heard

of the more popular cannabinoid, THC, the psychoactive

compound responsible for the “high” or stoned feeling

people experience when consuming marijuana. Few peo-

ple knew of CBD and so it has come to be that CBD has

almost been bred out of all medical marijuana as growers

push for higher THC content. However, CBD is gaining

in popularity due to the abundance of research, popular

success stories, and a grass roots social media following.

In fact, it is now the most request part of the plant!

Most people are familiar of the story of Charlotte, the little girl from Colorado for whom the marijuana strain, Char-lotte’s Web, was named. Charlotte suffers from Dravet’s syndrome, a disease that causes a person to have up to 100-200 seizures per day. So, a strain of marijuana was developed especially for her, with a high CBD content and a low THC content. After consuming her personal-ized medical cannabis, Charlotte experience a severe reduction in seizures. Watch her incredible story here.

Charlotte’s story was featured on CNN by neurosurgeon, Dr. Sanjay Gupta. Dr. Gupta may have been best known at the time for being President Obama’s first choice for the position of Surgeon General, a position that Gupta turned down, and for his early public dismissal of can-nabis and its medicinal properties. We are now almost three years removed from Dr. Gupta’s public admission of fault over having previously condemned the notion of medical cannabis. It was days after his change of heart that CNN’s special report, “Weed,” aired and introduced the nation to Charlotte and Cannabidiol.

We are now witnessing a changing of the guard as the medical community decides whether to embrace an all-natural treatment to conditions which were previously only treated with “Western medicine.” The first ever DEA & FDA approved study was recently completed at the Medical Research Center at the University of Alabama, Birmingham. Some medical schools are beginning to offer courses in cannabis as electives. How long is it before we see Western trained doc-tors specializing in cannabis medicine?

Did you know the US govern-ment has a patent on cannabi-noids. Back in 1998, a group of researchers & scientists from the

“Most importantly, it describes

cannabidiol (CBD) as being a potent

antioxidant (stronger than

vitamin C & vitamin E).”

National Institutes of Health filed a pat-ent that stated that cannabinoids do in fact have medical value. Thanks to the support of Nobel Laureate Julius Axelrod, the Patent #6,630,507 was awarded to the National Institutes of Health in 2003! This is a sig-nificant story. The name of the patent is called, “Canna-binoids as antioxidants and neuroprotectants.” This “507 patent” describes the potential therapeutic values of non-psychoactive canna-binoids. Most importantly, it describes cannabidiol (CBD) as being a potent antiox-idant (stronger than vitamin C & vitamin E). Have you seen all the latest news about the NFL looking into CBD? That is

because the 507 patent also describes CBD as having neuroprotective proper-ties. This means the National Institute of

Health believes it may pro-tect the brain and nervous system from damage due to head trauma like concus-sions or brain damage from strokes! Finally, the patent describes CBD as being safe (even up to 200 times more than suggested servings siz-es), non toxic and no possi-bility of fatal overdose.

In these pages, you will learn everything you ever wanted to know about Cannabidiol.

We have created this document for you, to educate yourself free of bias and to make an informed decision. ■

Early humans had many uses for the cannabis plant. Records show that cannabis plants were used to make

cloth 10,000-12,000 years ago in ancient Tai-wan. It is also known that early humans used the cannabis plant for both food and thera-py. The versatility of the cannabis plant no doubt played a role in the plant’s importance to early and modern humans alike.

Cannabidiol was first isolated from can-nabis as early as 1940. Little to no research was further undertaken until 1963 when CBD’s chemical structure was discovered by researchers Mechoulam and Shvo. So, even though cannabis has been used for thousands of years, it was not until about 50 years ago that we discovered CBD. CBD researched picked back up in the 70’s and slowed back down again in the late 80’s.

The 1970’s saw the birth of some of the first pharmacological actions of Cannabidiol. Which means they began to learn that CBD was beneficial for the treatment of some conditions and/or symptoms. In 1973, a Bra-zilian research team was able to demon-strate the antiepileptic properties of CBD

Cannabidiol (CBD) has a rich history that stretches back 10,000 years or more. Carl Sagan, a astronomer and philosopher, theorized that cannabis could quite

possibly be the man’s first agricultural crop. This would lend credence to the believe that cannabis created the birth of civilization.

showing that the molecule was responsible for reducing or blocking convulsions.

Another study produced in the early 1970’s was able to demonstrate sedative properties of CBD in both rats and pigeons. It was not until later that these properties were demonstrated in humans to include longer sleep duration and an increase in slow wave sleep (SWS).

In the 1980’s, CBD’s effects on anxiety, psychosis and certain cognitive disorders were uncovered. In 1982, a study was un-dertaken to look at the relationship between CBD and THC, the cannabinoid in cannabis that is intoxicating. CBD was demonstrated to inhibit or limit the intoxicating effects of THC.

Research into CBD and other canna-binoids picked up in the 1990’s and was further fueled by the discovery of the en-docannabinoid system and the first en-docannabinoid discovered, anandamide. CBD and cannabis research remained fairly steady throughout the 90’s, and it was not until the early 2000’s that studies into CBD would be accelerated again. ■

There are basically two different ways CBD is extracted from the cannabis plant. Like most marijuana oils, CBD can be extracted from the flower of both the marijuana and hemp plants.

This extraction method is considered to only be legal in medical marijuana specific states, even if the flower is from the hemp plant. This is due to the Controlled Substances Act labeling anything taken from the flower of any cannabis plant as marijuana. To see the “State of the Leaf” click here.

However, there is another extraction method where CBD oil is extracted from the stalk and stem of the hemp plant. This extraction method is considered to be the only legal extraction method. Supercritical CO2 extraction is the most widely accept-ed method and produces the best results without the use of any chemicals or sol-vents. So, when you’re buying your CBD products, make sure they were extract-ed from organically grown stalk or stem, and by supercritical CO2 extraction. If so, these products are just as legal as hemp seed or hemp hearts you can buy at any local grocery store and most likely a high quality product.

Here are some excerpts from an official legal opinion from industry leading law firm, Hoban & Feola, LLC:

“Lastly, in May 2015, the FDA posted an informal online forum summarily asserting that CBD products are excluded from the definition of a “dietary supplement” under Section 201(ff)(3)(B)(ii) of the FD&C Act, though questions remain whether all of the factors under that section of the FD&C Act have been satisfied. Thereafter, the FDA did not act upon its summary asser-tion until, on February 9, 2016, the FDA is-sued several of warning letters to compa-nies marketing dietary supplements which contain CBD oil. Primarily, these letters took issue with disease claims made by each company regarding their respective products. However, in several of these let-ters, the FDA identified CBD as a non-per-missible dietary ingredient allegedly due to a prior New Drug (“IND”) application for CBD under the above-stated section of the FD&C Act.

However, it appears this preclusion of CBD as a “dietary supplement” by the FDA is a premature announcement based on an incomplete analysis. The above-stated section of the FD&C Act requires the FDA’s conclusion can only be reached only if substantial clinical investigations have been both institut-ed and made public on a subject IND application. Furthermore, there is an exception if it is demonstrated if the substance (CBD) was “marketed as” a dietary supplement or conventional food prior to the authorization of the new drug investigations. First, the FDA has failed to identify with particularity the IND application it references and the “substantial clinical investigations” summarily asserted occurred as a re-sult of such application. Moreover, it is a broadly shared opinion of the CBD marketplace that CBD was in fact mar-keted as a dietary supplement prior to the subject IND application and the commencement of allegedly related “substantial clinical investigations” and those in the CBD industry have provided substantial evidence and information to the FDA to support this position. Impor-tantly, a number of other dietary sup-plement ingredients have been subject-ed to similar scrutiny, yet continue to be marketed as dietary supplements—e.g. red yeast rice, trans-resveratrol, P5P, NAC and DHEA. Resultantly, based on information available to date, the FDA’s asserted exclusion of CBD as a dietary ingredient in dietary supplements does not appear to render a “final decision” of the FDA, as such conclusion has not fully satisfied the appropriate criteria of the FD&C Act.” ■

Who Should Be Taking CBD?More and more research is being done to see which conditions and/or symptoms may be alleviated by the consumption of Cannabi-diol (CBD). The System

Ever wonder how does the endocannabinoid system work, or

what the endocannabinoid system is? The endocannabinoid

system is found in all mammals. It’s a roundup of receptors,

which only accept cannabinoids – a group of compounds that

include the components of cannabis.

Experts believe cannabis is remarkably useful for medicinal research. What deters researchers worldwide from experimenting with cannabis and exploring its unexplored medical benefits are the strict laws across nations.

Scientists study the endocannabinoid system and how its receptors respond to the psychoactive stimuli, inherent in cannabis.

CBD: PAST, PRESENT & FUTURE | 13

It’s a bit surprising that tet-rahydrocannabinol or THC, one of the core psychoactive properties in Cannabis was discovered in 1960s but the mechanism that it stimulates i.e. endocannabinoid system wasn’t discovered until 1990s.

Its discoverer was Dr. Ralph Mechoulam. He discovered two receptors called Can-nabinoid 1 or CB1 and Cannabinoid 2 or CB2. Both receptors are activated by en-docannabinoids, which are organically produced in mammals. Dr. Mechoulam found the cannabinoid receptors are also stimulated by the external plant-based cannabinoids (phytocannabinoids).

At the core of the endocannabinoid sys-tem are the cannabinoid receptors. For a comprehensive understanding of endo-cannabinoid, we need to know how these receptors work. CB1 receptors are mainly found in several regions across the brain. They can be found in other parts of the body as well, but in lower amounts.

CB2 receptors are present in immune cells and in the neurones. CB1 and CB2 receptors are called G protein-coupled receptors or GPCRs. Two ligands have al-ready been mentioned that activate the receptors. These are endocannabinoids and phytocannabinoids. The third ligands are synthetic cannabinoids.

Here is the similarity index between two receptors in regard to organic com-pounds:

• CB1andCB2are44%similarin protein sequence.

"Many people who suffer from excruciating pain take cannabis. Interestingly, narcotics also also has pain-relieving properties to it and work as a co-agonist in tandem with cannabis, which is another co-agonist. One co-agonist intensifies the effect of another."

• CB1andCB2receptorsubtypesare 68% similar in amino acid.

There are additional G-protein cou-pled receptors. One such receptor is GPR55. Two other receptors are GPR18 and GPR119. These receptors were dis-covered in late 90s and early 2000s. The cannabinoid binding can be stereo-selective or reversible to the receptors.

CB1 Receptor

Researchers have found that THC acti-vates CB1 receptors more than CB2 re-ceptors. THC is the reason behind the intoxicating effects that smoking weed causes. Cannabis has been reported to relieve pain. THC is responsible for the pain relieving properties of cannabis.

THC’s presence in the CB1 site can re-lieve pain. What this implies is THC-rich medicines can function as pain reliever. Many people who suffer from excruciating pain take cannabis. In-terestingly, narcotics also also has pain-relieving properties to it and work as a co-agonist in tandem with cannabis, which is another co-agonist. One co-agonist intensifies the effect of another.

CB1 receptor plays a key role in the reduction of GABA release. Here’s a de-tailed description of how this process works:

The gamma-Aminobutyric acid (GABA) is an inhibitory neurotransmitter. When it stimulates, it causes inhibi-tion. But synaptic plasticity causes depolarization of neurons, from which, endo-cannabinoids are released and bind to the CB1 recep-tor to reduce GABA release. Other than the brain, CB1 receptors are expressed in lungs, kidney and liver.

CB2 Receptors

Cannabis strengthens the body’s immune system. The underlying factors is the presence of CB2 re-ceptors in the body. Un-like CB1 receptors, CB2 receptors are attached with CBD, even though CBD doesn’t directly stim-ulate these receptors. While CB1 receptors re-lieve pain, CB2 receptors reduce inflammation. Re-search in this direction are gradually discovering the anti-spasmodic and an-ti-inflammatory properties of CBD.

CB2 receptors are expressed primarily in B cells, T cells and hematopoietic cells. The CB2 receptor family of endocannabinoids are the immune derivative cells. Among those cells are T and B lymphocytes and leuko-cytes. The immune cells such as the white blood cells express CB1 receptors too, but in much lower amounts compared to CB2 receptors.

A stark difference between CB1 and CB2 receptors is the first set of receptors bring a sense of joy and

Hence, the endocannabinoid system con-trols the functioning of the brain.

It was said in the beginning of the ar-ticle that cannabinoids are naturally produced in the body. The psychoac-tive elements in cannabis like THC can meddle with the functioning of the en-docannabinoid system by restraining the activities of naturally produced can-nabinoids.

That’s the reason many people report that they feel difficulties in carrying out their normal works when they are high. They also fail to remember things, take time to react to an external stimuli, and couldn’t understand what’s happening around them. Prolonged use of marijua-na can change the way the endocanna-binoid system works and create prob-lems related to memory and other brain activities.

The research is on and with every passing day, scientists are obtaining new details that help them discover more about the endocannabinoid system. Hopefully in the future, they will discover effec-tive ways to neutralize the effects of THC and contribute to the devel-opment of cannabis-rich

medicines. ■

“Unlike CB1 receptors, CB2 receptors are

blissful feeling, which is believed to be the perk of smoking marijuana. But no similar effect has been noticed when CB2 receptors are activated. This has caused a stir among the researchers and they have made a few particular CB2 receptor agonists the subject of their research.

The key difference between the Endocan-nabinoid system and other neurotransmit-ters is the former works backward while the latter works forward. Neurotransmit-ters are chemicals that release from a presynaptic brain cell and get keyed to a postsynaptic brain cell.

Both brain cells are neurons. The neuron that receives the chemicals inform the other organs in the body how to react and what actions are to be taken. But the endocannabinoid system works different-ly. It releases cannabinoids, which travel backwards, from postsyn-aptic cells to presynaptic cells.

This difference is key to understand how cannabi-noids control the activation of presynaptic cells. The cannabinoids, released from the endocannabinoid system can regulate the re-lease of neurotransmitters like somatostatin, aspartic acid and glycine. These neurotransmitters are re-sponsible for the communi-cation between brain cells.

The first naturally occurring cannabinoid discovered inside a mammal was anandamide. One way CBD stimulates the endocannabinoid system naturally is by suppressing the chemical that break down anandamide, fatty acid amide hydroxylase. Anandamide can be found activating CB1 re-ceptors in the brain. More anandamide could mean great-er CB1 receptor activation in the brain.

CBD has also been observed to behave similarly to an-ti-depressants. CBD has been shown to activate the hy-droxytryptamine serotonin receptor. This receptor has been linked to not only depression, but anxiety, appetite, sleep, addiction, pain, nausea and vomiting.

But wait, there’s more.

CBD has also been shown to affect the cardiovascular sys-tem due to CBD’s ability to act on the adenosine receptor. These receptors have roles to play in oxygen consumption within the blood and regulating blood flow. These recep-tors can also be found in the brain and play a role in regu-lating other neurotransmitters.

Many people have known about the benefits of capsaicin, the part of peppers that give them their spice. Capsaicin stimulates the TRPV-1 receptor, also known as the Vanilloid receptor. This is because Vanilla’s analgesic and antiseptic

properties that made Vanilla a historical cure for head-aches and other mild pains.

There’s more research being commissioned to study the endocannabinoid system. We do not entirely know the extent of the benefits from cannabinoids, such as CBD, but we are learning more about the medicinal impact of the cannabis plant. ■

CBD works differently from other cannabinoids. If you have been reading through the sections of this report, then you have learned about the endocannabinoid system and the CB 1& 2 receptors. A lot of people incorrectly believe that CBD works on the CB1 and CB2 receptors. The truth is, CBD goes to work in a number of ways.

The study focuses on the thera-peutic pain relieving abilities of the cannabis plant, and gives note to previous studies that

looked at cannabis for the treatment of arthritis, multiple sclerosis, inflammatory bowel disease and diabetes. Research-ers also looked at the use of cannabis to self-medicate throughout history,

This study also proves that the phar-maceutical approach to cannabis is not the best option. Scientist have long been obsessed with isolating mole-cules, and it makes sense because how else would you be able to study them.

The problem is that Big Pharma, along with western med-icine, has become overly reliant on the single active in-gredient model. Re-member Marinol(™)? What about compa-nies producing CBD only oils and iso-lates, and the push to have a CBD phar-maceutical?

THIS IS VERY IMPORTANT, PLEASE READ CAREFLLY:

While there are many companies using an isolate, or what they call 99.9% Pure CBD which is a synthetic or single mol-ecule isolate, holistic ompanies such as BioCBD+ are proud to only offer full plant formulations. This is also what scien-tist call the “Entourage Effect.” You see, whole plant hemp CBD extractions typi-cally include CBD, trace amounts of THC, and more than 400 trace compounds. These compounds interact synergistical-ly to create an “entourage effect” that magnifies the therapeutic benefits of the plant’s individual components—so that the medicinal impact of the whole plant is greater than the sum of its parts. Make sure you are using WHOLE PLANT CBD as 100 milligrams of synthetic single-mol-ecule CBD is not equivalent to 100 milli-grams of a CBD-rich whole plant canna-bis extract.

“A lot of research has been made to isolate and

characterize isolated single constituents of traditional

herbal medicine to find their rationale for therapeutic

uses,” the Israeli team concluded.

This study proves that the single ac-tive ingredient model doesn’t work for Cannabidiol. Having all the other cannabinoids and terpenes present corrects the one and only major flaw of CBD; the fact that CBD alone has a poor efficacy.

Researchers were also able to demon-strate that less CBD is needed when administered with other cannabinoids and terpenes.

The research team took things a step further after these incredible findings. They decided to test whole-plant can-nabis extracts against pain killers and other pharmaceuticals. What the sci-entists discovered was that whole-plant cannabis extract did a better job of eliminating pain than Aspirin.

“A lot of research has been made to isolate and characterize isolated single constituents of traditional herbal medi-cine to find their rationale for therapeu-tic uses,” the Israeli team concluded.

CBD Is Even Good For Your Pets!AMERICA’S GROWING DEMAND FOR CBD PET TREATMENTS

One of the truly amazing parts about covering the medical cannabis industry is meeting patients who were successfully

treated with medical cannabis, especially those who had seemingly lost all hope with conventional medicine. The truth of the med-ical cannabis industry is that the application of cannabis is miles ahead of the typical ‘institution-al research’ and has yet to be fully embraced by mainstream society.

Despite this fact, patients, advocates and families are turning to CBD treatments for their loved ones, often as a last resort, only to find incredible results that they pre-viously thought impossible. However, humans are no lon-ger the sole benefactor of successful CBD treatments. Various medical cannabis companies have developed a cannabinoid (CBD) product specifically for pet applica-tions and, at this moment in time, the market demand seems to be exceeding production in many cases.

The fact that pet owners are seeking these ‘miracle cures’ should not come as a surprise, as according to a 2011 Harris Poll, 90% of Americans consider their dog or cat as part of their family. The internet is being flooded with successful, real world applications where CBD has arguably made a 100% difference between a

pet living or dying. Is the research be-hind it yet? Nope. Can those who sell CBD make claims as to its benefits? Nope. Are there pet owners out there who would swear by CBD in a court of law if given the chance. 100% yes.

In a recent Cashinbis article, world fa-mous cannabis advocate Tommy Chong said that ‘we need more research’ is code for ‘let’s just put it on the shelf and forget about it’. Well, these animal lovers are taking the product off the shelf and putting their entire pet’s future on the line because they believe in the treat-ment and those results are be-ing confirmed in front of their eyes. So who are these people? Is pet CBD different from that meant for humans? How can you tell the difference be-tween good and bad prod-uct? To answer these ques-tions, here is CBD expert George Atwell of BioCBD+, a company that offers some of the best and safest water soluble CBD products on the market today.

WHO IS USING THESE PET SUPPORT CBD PRODUCTS?“Well pets are using them! I’m kidding. I asked our Customer Response Team who’s asking about our pet product and they told me that adults of all ages are

inquiring about Total Pet Support. I would say most of the actual purchases are made by Matriarch of the family, which is pretty normal. As for the types of pets, I would have to say from my own personal experience that the vast majority of peo-ple buying our water soluble pet formu-lation are doing so for their dogs and/or cats.” –George Atwell – BioCBD+

WHAT DO THEY DO FOR ANIMALS? ARE YOU ALLOWED TO MAKE CLAIMS OR DOES THE TESTING STILL HAVE TO HAPPEN?“I can’t make any claims whatsoever. We

always encourage people to do their own research and there’s plen-

ty out there. I will say that I have been giving our

Total Pet Support cap-sules to my 11 year old lab, Brutus, and he is again going on a mile long walk with me everyday and greets me at the door like he did when he was a pup-

py.” – George Atwell – BioCBD+

tion for you. Meet Topper, a young husky who suffered from epileptic seizures. He was treated with CBD and his story is as beautiful as his husky face! But wait? With-out research, how do we know CBD was the cure? Well, the answer is that there is more research on the market today than the public is aware of. For instance, this article from the US National Library of Medicine says, in regards to using CBD’s to treat seizures:

“These results extend the anti-convulsant profile of CBD; when combined with a re-ported absence of psychoactive effects, this evidence strongly supports CBD as a therapeutic candidate for a diverse range of human epilepsies.” – 2012 Report

Despite the fact this report was published back in 2012, research and study of medi-cal cannabis, including CBD products, has come at a snails pace. However, outstand-ing products are still being offered and real life results are being referenced in place of studies that may or may not ever take place.

IS THE CBD IN PET PRODUCTS THE SAME AS THE CBD USED FOR HUMANS?“Yes, we believe that pets deserve the best so we use the same all-natural formulations containing our BioCBD™, which means our Total Pet Support capsules have the same increased bioavailability as all our other wa-ter soluble formulations.” – George Atwell – BioCBD+

WHY SHOULD PEOPLE GIVE THEIR PETS CBD’S OVER OTHER PET TREATMENTS OR SUPPLEMENTS?

“I think everyone should make the right choice for their pets. Do your own re-search and don’t give your pets anything you wouldn’t take yourself. I think people are moving towards all-natural products and we are seeing that shift with pet prod-ucts as well.” – George Atwell – BioCBD+

Do your own research and don’t give your pets anything you wouldn’t take yourself.

Here is a site with a pretty solid compi- lation of research articles and medical journals that support the array of CBD applications for both humans and pets. Just pull down the ‘learn about cbd’ tab to access all sorts of articles and reports. Again, these are independent, third party studies that are not being made by a CBD production company.

WHEN DID THIS TAKE OFF – HAS IT OR IS IT STILL RISING?“I would definitely say it’s rising. What’s incredible to think about is that we have been getting increasing sales every month, and we have yet to spend $1 to-wards any type of marketing. In fact, the demand is rising so quickly that we are looking for the right partners to use our BioCBD™ technology in their products to help cover the demand.” – George Atwell – BioCBD+

HOW CAN PEOPLE TELL A QUALITY CBD PRODUCT FROM A NON-REPUTABLE ONE? WHAT SHOULD PEOPLE LOOK FOR AND WHAT SHOULD THEY AVOID?“The main thing that people should con-sider is where their hemp is coming from.

CBD – RESEARCH FOR YOURSELF

If you are considering CBD or are on the fence as to your support of others who use them, the consensus throughout the medical cannabis community is that you conduct your own research. Make up your own mind. The federal research will eventually catch up to the rest of society who already knows the benefits to CBD. Until then, the answers are al-ready out there. All you have to do is look around and connect the dots for

yourself. ■

I think the credible people in the industry will agree that the “CBD paste” coming out of places like China is no good. Com-panies are getting wise to the game and importing the paste from Europe so it can be resold as “Coming from Europe.” So that’s one thing to look out for.

I would also say that many of the same rules that apply for humans apply for pets. I believe a full-spectrum CBD is al-ways better than CBD isolate, and prod-ucts with a more bioavailable CBD are a better and all-around safer choice. And you don’t have to force your pet to swal-low nasty tasting oil.” – George Atwell – BioCBD+

Endo c annabinoid System

Cannabidiol

These receptors are part of the endocannabinoid system which impact physiological processes affecting pain modulation, memory, and appetite plus anti-inflammatory effects and other immune system responses. The endocannabinoid system comprises two types of receptors, CB1 and CB2.

CB1 receptors are primarily found in the brain and central

nervous system, and to a lesser extent in other tissues.

CBD does not directly "fit" CB1 or CB2 receptors but

has powerful indirect effects still being studied.

CB2 receptors are mostly in the perepheral organs especially cells

associated with the immune system.

What makes this technology so unique and beyond any else out there is the ability to take multiple active

ingredients and make them all water soluble. We’re talking water soluble CBD, water soluble CBG, water soluble CBN,

plant technology has been proven to increase the efficacy of CBD. CBD, when isolated, is less effective and usually requires a lot of processing. Whole-plant cannabis extracts, when combined with BioCBD™ technology opens up the door to the microdosing of cannabinoids once thought to exist in amounts to small to be of any effectiveness.

Our society expanded into Western Medicines because we didn’t have the technology available to take medicinal plants, combine them with other medicinal plants and increase all of their effects by making them water soluble.

And guess what? I haven’t even told you the best part yet. BioCBD™ technology...it’s an all-natural technology. That’s right, folks. This technology uses NO solvents, chemicals, toxins, liposomes or anything else artificial in any way.

Curcumin is the secret of BioCBD™ and also happens to be one of the most powerful all-natural anti-inflammatories. The world has woken up to the many benefits of Curcumin, and this wonder herb is currently one of the top selling natural health products on the market. Let me tell you, that doesn’t happen for no good reason.

Products with BioCBD™ technology can be more expensive, but the benefits far outweigh the cost. After all, if you’re going

to spend any money on CBD products, you might as well invest in a product that has the most bioavailable source of CBD, other all-natural ingredients for increased effectiveness and precision dosing so you always know how much you’re getting.

Liposomal CBD

Liposomal technology cannot be considered new technology because it has been around for 50 years. Hailed as the drug delivery breakthrough of its time, liposomal technology allowed for nutrients to be encapsulated and reduce the breakdown of those nutrients as the pass through the Gastrointestinal (GI) tract.

“ We’re talking water soluble CBD, water soluble CBG, water soluble CBN, water soluble terpenes, water soluble curcumin, water soluble

boswellia, water sol...well hopefully you get the point.“

Liposomal CBD is engineered to work in the same way. And when it comes to liposomal technologies, not all are created equal.

Some liposomal technologies can contain harmful solvents such as Ethanol. Others don’t contain a full-spectrum of cannabinoids and instead contain only CBD. If you prefer all-natural products, there are liposomal technologies that are extracted from plants.

When it comes to water soluble liposomal CBD, recent developments seem promising. Do your research and read product reviews.

CBD Isolate

There’s not a lot of information out there about CBD isolate. This is partly due to the newness of the technology, and also because industry experts tend to accept what research has shown to be true; whole-plant extract is better than CBD isolate for efficacy.

The advantage of CBD isolate is the ability to add it to just about anything. CBD isolate is odorless and tasteless. You can sprinkle it on food or toss some in a beverage. There are also all-natural versions of this technology available for wholesale purchases.

Another advantage of CBD isolate is that it is often times mixed back into a hemp seed oil that is usually cleaner and better tasting that a plain CBD oil.

However, as mentioned previously, you’re most likely not getting the most bang for your buck. CBD isolate isn’t exactly cheap due the amount of processing required to remove all the other constituents. While the other technologies on this list come with a bigger price tag as well, CBD isolate just feels like it comes up short considering the absence of the other beneficial

cannabinoids and terpenes. ■

A recent study out of Harvard University pointed out what many of us already. Vaping could be just as dangerous as cigarettes. In an unreg-ulated market with cheap materials, anyone

could start their own vape or e-juice business with no one to check what exactly is going into these products.

“Recognition of the hazards associated with inhaling flavoring chemicals started with ‘popcorn lung’ over a decade ago. However, diacetyl and other related flavor-ing chemicals are used in many other flavors beyond butter-flavored popcorn, including fruit flavors, alcohol flavors, and, we learned in our study, candy-flavored e-cigarettes.” – Joseph Allen, lead author & assistant professor of exposure assessment sciences.

The Harvard team looked at 51 different varieties of e-juice and found 47 of 51 contained some type of harmful chemical. Let me put this another way to emphasize those findings; 94% of all tested e-juices were found to contain one or more harm-ful chemicals.

These findings are even more alarming when you stop to think about the size of the vape & e-juice market. Currently, there are thousands of varieties of e-juic-es. In an unregulated market, choosing an e-juice at random is a lot like playing Russian Roulette, and you have a 94% chance of losing.

Knowing something about your vaping company is important. The latest trend from respectable vape companies is to move towards all-natural formulas.

The majority of cannabis vape cartridges being made today are being done so us-

ing PG (propylene glycol), VG (vegetable glycerin) or PEG (Polyethylene Glycol). Consumers have responded to the use of these harmful substances by demanding more natural alternatives.

We all have to take a stance against the multitude of harmful substances found in vape cartridges, e-juices and e-cigarettes. These companies are marketing their products as a healthy alternative to cig-arettes, but these findings show that isn’t always the case with vaping alternatives. Even more to consider is the marketing of these products to adolescents and teens. Vape products can be beneficial prod-ucts for use. CBD vape cartridges made from entirely all-natural ingredients have become the number one choice for health-conscious vapers.

You can now get the purest, 100% all natural, Organic Hemp CBD oil vape product from BioCBDPlus.com. ■

Most people in the CBD industry held their breath when the FDA

sent letters to 12 different Cannabidiol companies. To those outside of the industry, these letters were seen as the Food & Drug Administration taking a step to close down the hemp-derived CBD in-dustry. It is true the FDA sent letters warning CBD com-panies about their products, but the FDA’s complaint dealt with mislabeling of prod-uct ingredients and making claims about the medical val-ue of their products.

When it came to the label-ing issues, the FDA took is-sue with some companies for containing little to no Canna-bidiol or other cannabinoids. I don’t think that anyone can argue with the FDA on this point, and everyone should support the FDA when it comes to disreputable com-panies making false claims. Speaking of false claims, the powers at be also took issue with some CBD companies claiming their products could cure or lessen specific condi-tions.

The FDA’s position on making product claims is this;

CBD and the FDA Letters

just because your product has CBD doesn’t mean your product can do the things re-search has shown CBD can do. The FDA has the right to take a conservative posi-tion considering the speed at which the hemp CBD in-dustry is growing. It seems as though new companies are entering into the market on a weekly basis.

The emergence of water soluble CBD technologies have seen a separating occur in the industry. Before, when it was just oil products, al-most anyone could buy CBD oil and create their own prod-uct. Scientific breakthroughs and implementation of older water soluble technologies have allowed companies with intellectual property in

one of these areas to hold a superior position over bio-available challenged CBD oil products.

Recently, there was a story that was falsely report-ed story claiming the end of the hemp CBD industry was near due to FDA intervention. The author of that article has since published a retraction article, and consumer confi-dence in the market looks to be restored.

Somewhere there is a happy medium where the FDA continues to enforce ethical standards to protect the wellbeing of consumers and where innovators have the freedom to bring revo-lutionary products to market without unrealistic financial constraints. ■
