EDUCATIONAL SESSION3:15 PM – 4:15 PM

Collecting Your MoneyDave Byrnes, Floors Incorporated

You just completed a floor installation, and have yet to be paid. With the assistance of MFMA legal counsel, Jack Jeffries, we will lead a discussion on; Demand Letters, Mechanics Liens, Claim on Bonds and Prompt Payment statutes. The threat of a contractor utilizing these tools is a powerful incentive for a GC, CM and/or owner to make payment and not suffer the costs and delay in defending the contractors claim.

Dave Byrnes starting in the flooring business at age 14 at Donovan Equipment company. In 1979, his parents started Floors Incorporated, and he was employed as the "skilled" carpenter. He worked in this capacity through college and into 1985 when he began working as a delivery man / estimator for the family business. Byrnes then went to Action Floor Systems, for 17 years as the Midwest Sales

Representative, before returning to Floors Incorporated as President.
