Taiwan Tech has achieved its excellence at teaching and research in recent years with the support from "The Aim for the Top Universities Project" and "Plan for Developing Technological University Paradigms," as well as the hard work from faculty members and students. Taiwan Tech has actively promoted collaboration between industry and university, encouraged internationalization and strengthened student's employability. The university's achievements are highly recognized both domestically and internationally.

Taiwan Tech is 251th in the QS World University Rankings and 24th of "top 50 under 50" in QS. Taiwan Tech has gained world visibility in many aspects including academic reputation, the number of paper citations, globalization, and the performance of its graduates. Taiwan Tech has cultivated more than 60,000 graduates who are well equipped with theoretical knowledge along with practical experience. These graduates are highly recognized among employers. Taiwan Tech achieved 98th in the world in the Global University Employability Ranking of 2019, published by Times Higher Education.

Taiwan Tech is a member of the "NTU System." The system upholds equality and mutual benefit for the promotion of both teaching and research activities. Through cross-universities resources linking and sharing, NTU System established a multi-dimensional cooperation mechanism and talent cultivation. The National Taiwan University of Science and Technology, formerly the "National Taiwan Institute of Technology" was founded in 1974. It was the first higher education institution of its kind in Taiwan's technical and vocational education system. In 1997, it became the "National Taiwan University of Science and Technology," also known as "Taiwan Tech." Taiwan Tech is now a top-notch international applied research university. • 於美國矽谷成立「臺科大矽谷中心」，提供師生創新創業基地 Taiwan Tech Silicon Valley Center in U.S. is established with the alumni support. The center serves as a hub for faculty and student innovation.
