This afternoon we welcome the players, supporters and officials of Heanor Town. We hope our visitors enjoy their brief stay with us this afternoon and we wish them a safe journey home and all the success for the coming season, especially as they have recently left the NCEL and joined the Midland Football League and we wish them well in their new venture. The Reserves finally opened their account for this season with an away game against Sherwood Colliery Res on Thursday evening. -= MATCH REPORT =- TEVERSAL FC 2-2 S NORMANTON ATH

Game ends in stalemate, but we should have won it!

Having visited South Normanton during the last pre-season, it was our turn to return the favour this time around.

You could tell from the warm-ups of both teams that there was going to be lots of changes during the game. Teversal had enough players on view to put out two teams while the Shiners had half a dozen extra personnel kitted up. It was South Normanton's first pre-season game and it was a bit of a surprise when they were awarded a penalty on 20 minutes which Ashley Whitt duly dispatched to give the visitors the lead. Nine minutes later Teversal drew level. Jermaine Jatau tapped home a square ball from Gary Atkins after some good work

down the right. 1-1. Straight from the kick off, the Shiners went up field and restored their lead when Rob Fretwell found the back of the net, and that's the way it stayed until the break.. HT : Teversal FC 1-2 South Normanton Ath There were a few changes at the start of the second half, and momentum for both sides seemed to be lost as further substitutions took place throughout the half. Josh Radford drew the Tevie Boys level on sixty-nine minutes as he spun around and fired the ball into the net. Radford should have won the game for the home side. The Normanton keeper challenged his run and diving at his feet handled the ball just outside the area. With the keeper protesting, Radford took a quick free kick but he sent the ball wide of the open goal. And with no further addition to the score
