3. Brief description of nature of the project:

M/s. Hexane Pharmachem Industries is proposing to manufacture synthetic organic

chemical (catalyst) at Plot No.4, Block No.253, Village: Nananpur, Taluka: Prantij, District:

Sabarkantha, Gujarat_383210. Proposed products will be used in pharmaceutical

products, agro based products & in different types of polymers.

The proposed final product synthetic organic chemical attracts Environmental Clearance

(EC) from Ministry of Environment, Forest & Climate Change (MoEFCC), New Delhi. It

falls under Category 5(f) as stated in Environment Impact Assessment Notification

Published on 14th September, 2006. Further, the location of the proposed project is outside

the notified industrial estate. Hence, the project proponent has to obtain the EC from the

Ministry of Environment, Forest & Climate Change, New Delhi. M/s. T. R. Associates has

been appointed to carry out EIA/EMP studies for obtaining Environmental Clearance.

The total land area of company is 6077 m2 out of which 2085 m2 (34.3 % of total land) area

will be used for greenbelt development. The estimated cost of the proposed project is 3

Crores. Total budget allocation towards Environmental Management Facilities will be

approx. Rs. 35 Lakhs. Total 12 persons will be employed including skilled persons,

unskilled persons and office staff.

Need for the project and its importance to the country and or region:

Industrial chemicals are the chemicals which are manufactured for different industrial

applications. These chemicals are found in fuels, dyes, anti freezes, explosives, lubricants,

insulators therefore forth. This can also be employed for research purposes within military

and warfare centers.

Looking to the product profile, it is required to take Environmental Clearance. In India,

good quality raw materials are available at cheap rates, enabling the manufacturing at low

cost. This increases the profit margin as compared to other players in the world. To meet

the current and future market demand, the project proponent intends to start a new unit.

Looking to the market demand, the proposed project is feasible at stated location.

Imports v/s Indigenous production:

Indian market is open and big that is why every kind of import is booming. Indian

industrialist must understand the fact that it’s no more a regional shift, it is a global shift.

Indian technology should be upgraded an updated at par with international standards.

The working environment in India has changed tremendously. Earlier the trade fairs were

hardly participated by foreign chemical manufacturing companies where as now it is

flooded with global suppliers.

Export Possibility:

There is good possibility for export. But recently we will focus on local sale market for

distribution.

Employment Generation (Direct and Indirect) due to the project:

This project will provide direct employment to 12 persons whereas it will provide

employment to many others indirectly. Plywood and Laminated sheet manufacturing

industries provide employment to large number of people.

4. Project Description

(i) Type of project including interlinked and interdependent projects:

Various Synthetic organic chemical are used in production of pharmaceutical

products, agrobased products & different types of polymers. So pharma industries,

agrobased industries and polymers manufacturing units will be interdependent on

our catalyst based products.

project site

(2) Nearest highway: National Highway 8 is 0.71 km away from the project site.

(3) Nearest airport: Ahmedabad Airport is 59.84 km from the project site.

(4) Power: 100 HP from Uttar Gujarat Vij Company Limited.

(5) Water: Source of the water will be a borewell (adjoining company).

(6) Basic amenities: Good road connectivity with state and national highway.

(vi) Soil classification of Sabarkantha District

Major soil types: Sandy soils & Loam, Brown to black soils, Black cotton soils.

Sand, goradu and medium black are the three main types of soil found in almost all

talukas of Sabarkantha district. Sandy soil is chiefly found in the central part of the

district covering mostly Modasa, Meghraj, Malpur, Himmatnagar, Bhiloda and Idar

talukas. The goradu soil covers Modasa, Prantij, Himmatnagar, Bhiloda and Malpur

talukas and the medium black soil covers Khedbrahma, Vijaynagar, Bayad and Idar

talukas.

(vii) Climate data from secondary source

Sabarkantha district is located in east of Gujarat, comes under normal rainfall areas

in Gujarat, having sub-tropical climate with moderately low humidity. The main

seasons prevailing in the district are (a) monsoon - mid of June to October, (b) winter

- November to February, and (c) summer – March to June.

Temperature

The maximum daily temperature during the year ranges from 31.0 °C in January to

48.5 °C in May while minimum temperature ranges from 11.5 °C in January to 27.5°C

in May.

Humidity

Maximum humidity ranges from 81.0% to 25.5%.

Wind

The wind speed ranges from 88.0 to 184.9 km/day, whereas evapo-transpiration

ranges from 3.5 to 7.8 mm/day.

Rainfall

Sabarkantha district receives much of its rainfall from the south-west monsoon

during the period between June & October; its maximum intensity being in the

month of July & August. Total rainy days ranges from 20 to 30 days/year. The

average annual rainfall of the district ranges from 665 mm to 815 mm.

(viii) Social Infrastructure available.

Industrialisation/Entrepreneurship:

The district is rich in respect of mineral resources. The important minerals in the

district are like, Lime stone, China clay, Sand stone, Bauxite, fire clay and Granite

etc. The minerals are mainly found in Khedbrahma, Idar, bhiloda, Himatnagar,

Meghraj, Vijaynagar, Malpurtaluka. Available resources provide the scope of

mineral based Industries. At present many minerals based industries are

functioning in the district. There are three big industrial estates in the district which

are at Idar, Himatnagar, and Talod in addition to that there is one estate run by co-

operative in Idar block. Sabarkantha district is an industrially backward district of

Gujarat State. The economy of the district is heavily dependent on Agriculture and

Dairy Farming. Sabar Dairy is having 1804 registered Milk Co-operative Societies

with active membership of 332838 members. Production of large quantities of clay,

silica sand and bauxite has opened up new avenues for the glass, tiles, fine bricks

and crockery. Food processing and textiles are the other emerging sectors, which

have opened up new opportunities for investment & employment generation.

There is no SEZ, Export Promotion center and common facility center in the district.

Marketing Potential:

There are 6 APMCs (Agriculture Produce Marketing Committees) and 7 market

yards in the district at almost all the block headquarters except Vijaynagar and

Poshina taluka. There is no accredited ware house exists in the district. Moreover,

there is no Availability of pledge loan/warehouse receipt loan facilities for farmers.

Hence, there is an immense need for accredited ware housing for farmers in the

district which can free the farmers from distressed selling of their crops and help to

get extended credit facility and interest subvention also on Negotiable warehouse

receipt. The Government of India has formulated a back ended capital investment

subsidy scheme for construction/modernisation/expansion of cold storage with an

objective of reducing post-harvest loses by controlled modified atmosphere storage

system. Moreover, GOI also extends capital investment subsidy scheme “Integrated

Scheme for Agricultural Marketing” for construction/modernisation/expansion of

Rural Godowns for storage of farm produces intended to befit the small farmers
