Greater Than the Mind: Providing for the Whole Gifted Child at Home and SchoolGifted education often focuses on the cognitive needs of students, leaving little time to be responsive to the social, emotional, physical, and cultural needs of gifted children.

This session focuses on these other-than-cognitive domains of development that are foundational for success in a variety of settings, including school. The strategies participants will master in hands-on demonstrations allow for easy implementation of what is learned when returning to a classroom, school, or home.

What Works: Identifying and Serving Low-Income Gifted LearnersWhen appropriate programming structures, curriculum and instructional interventions, and external supports are available to low-income students, they are more likely to break through the barriers of poverty and develop their talents.

Join leading educators and researchers in the field of gifted education for a comprehensive and practical look at how to best identify, serve, and provide appropriate support systems necessary for growing the talents of low-income gifted learners.
