Forgiveness God, forgive my incompleteness: not growing in Christ, not expanding my knowledge

of the Scriptures, not developing all my talents. God, forgive my disinterest: a lack of concern for needs around me, apathy regardingthe lost ness of millions, blindness to hurts I could help heal.

God, forgive my dishonesty: taking, the easy way rather than the right way, speakingin one manner while living in another, silencing truth to preserve tranquility, settlingfor less than what is best, loving tradition more than obeying your pioneering Spirit.

God, forgive my loudness: talking when I should be listening, proclaiming when Ishould be studying, busying myself with new tasks when I should be finding a quiet

place to rest. God, forgive my silence: feeling love and failing to whisper it, reeling with joy and notshouting hallelujah, knowing truth and forfeiting an opportunity to share it, sensing aneed to share my faith and squelching the impulse.

God, please forgive me.

God of hope and safety, like sheep who go astray, I have wandered from your pathsof life and light. Forgive me Lord for I have sinned against you. I have heard the

Shepherd's voice calling me by name, but I have turned instead to my own way,Forgive me Lord. Show me your tender mercy; restore me in the security of your fold.Lead me back to still waters, seat me again at your bounteous table. Depression

God, life seems so bleak and useless right now. I don't have any energy. Ihave no ambition to do much of anything. I am really feeling down. I feel"down on" myself and "down on" everyone around me. Even as I pray, Idon't sense your presence. I am going through the motions, knowing thatyou are still with me. I know that I am sacred and precious but they are justwords right now. I know that my life has been worthwhile, full of many

wonderful people and experiences, much happiness and joy. I feel little ofthis right now. God, all I can do is affirm the goodness of life and try to holdon until the darkness is replaced by your light and love.

Help me to spot the lies that my depressed emotions are telling me. Life isgood. I am good. You are good. Grant me hope. My loved ones love me.Life will be beautiful again. Soon, I will see the beauty around me again.Soon, I will again know vitality and purpose, happiness and love. Until then,give me the strength and hope to survive this day.
