In addition to the liturgical celebration, many devotional exercises are connected with the Sacred Heart of Jesus. Of all devotions, devotion to the Sacred Heart was, and remains, one of the most widespread and popular in the Church. Understood in the light of the Scriptures, the term "Sacred Heart of Jesus" denotes the entire mystery of Christ, the totality of his being, and his person considered in its most intimate essential: Son of God, uncreated wisdom; infinite charity, principal of the salvation and sanctification of mankind. The "Sacred Heart" is Christ, the Word Incarnate, and Savior, intrinsically containing, in the Spirit, an infinite divine-human love for the Father and for his brothers. Congratulations NC Group, winners of the Grand Prize in our 2016 Lebanese Festival Raffle! Thanks to everyone who participated and helped make this raffle a success! Stay tuned for our next festival raffle during our 14 th Annual Lebanese Festival-Memorial Weekend 2017! A huge and resounding “Thank You” to all of our festival volunteers!!! All you wonderful lovely people who helped with: food prep, working the booths during the festival, setting up, cleaning up during and after the event! It is through all of your combined & coordinated efforts that this festival was such a great and memorable event! A special “shout out” also to our Festival Planning Committee who worked tirelessly to organize this team effort. Since January they have been meeting regularly, dedicating countless hours to plan; and for the last two months they were meeting weekly- even sometimes twice a week, to ensure every detail was carefully mapped out. Also, special recognition goes to all our generous donors for underwriting the festival and/or supplying goods and/or services. Your generosity is truly remarkable! To all our guests who took their time to be with us to celebrate- we greatly appreciate your being here to support us! To all the special guests of honor, we especially recognize the time you took out of your busy schedules to celebrate with us: Congressman Darrell Issa, Mayor and Mrs. Sam Abed, as well as a most generous benefactor of our church, Mr. Bob Baker. We hope to have you among us many times in the future. Finally to all those who came out to enjoy our festival to all of you who had a good time at the celebration - it was your participation and pleasure; your smiles and happiness that made this event the success that it was! Your energy and spirit is what we will always remember and cherish! Upcoming Summer Schedule: Starting Saturday, July 2 nd we will not have Saturday 5:30 PM Vigil Liturgies. We will resume the normal liturgical schedule starting on September4th. COUNTING OUR BLESSINGS!
