Dear Parish Family, On Tuesday, June 26th St. Ephrem Parish will welcome Fr. Vimal Arokiaraj. Father is a priest of the diocese of Sultanpet in the state of Kerala, India. Kerala is in the southern part of India and it is a primarily Christian sector. Father is currently studying canon law in Rome, and will be staying with us for July, August and September. Priests who study canon law generally serve in the central administration of the diocese and assist the bishop in legal matters. The bishop of Sultanpet is Bishop Peter Antonysamy. Bishop Peter and I are friends. We lived together in St. Athanasius Parish as young priests, back in the day. I am happy to welcome one of Bishop Peter’s priests at this time.

New Eucharistic Ministers and Lectors Installed at St. Ephrem
On the weekend of June 2nd & 3rd, which was the feast of the Most Holy Body and Blood of Christ (Corpus Christi), ___ new Eucharistic Ministers and ___ new Lectors were installed at the Sunday masses. We welcome all of these
new ministers who assist at the Sunday and Holy Day Masses, lead communion services at our two nursing homes
and take communion to the homebound.
Recruiting Eucharistic Ministers If you would like to be a Eucharistic Minister at St.
Ephrem, or you would like to suggest someone to take on this role, please call either Fr. Katziner (215-245-1698) or Sr. Mary Jane Bransfield (215-639-4332). A Eucharistic Minister should be living a good moral life, be able to
rotate through a couple of Sunday masses, and be willing to be scheduled about once every 4 weeks. All new
Eucharistic Ministers will be fully trained. Some Eucharistic minsters do not prefer to be scheduled for
Sunday masses, but they lead communion services at Juniper Village and/or Oaks of Sierra. Other Eucharistic Minsters only take the Eucharist to the homebound of the parish. If you are interested in either of these ministries
please contact Sr. Mary Jane Bransfield at 215-639-4332. You will be fully trained.
Thank You to Current Eucharistic Ministers & Lectors Currently we have over 100 Eucharistic Ministers and
about 30 Lectors. Many have been doing this ministry for many years. Let me take this opportunity to thank you for
all the sacrifices you have made in these important ministries. Your efforts are deeply appreciated.
Summer Dance Theatre Workshop Nazareth Academy Grade School will be holding a 2 week
summer camp consisting of music, singing, dancing, acrobatics, hip-hop, guitar, acting and arts & crafts.
The camp is from Monday, July 9th to Friday, July 20th, from 9:30am-2:00pm (preschoolers); 9:30am-3:30pm (grades 1-8).
