PROCLAMATION AND RESPONSE
*AFFIRMATION The Apostle’s Creed UM Hymnal, 881 I believe in God the Father Almighty,
maker of heaven and earth;
And in Jesus Christ his only Son our Lord:
who was conceived by the Holy Spirit,
born of the Virgin Mary,
suffered under Pontius Pilate,
was crucified, dead, and buried;
the third day he arose from the dead;
he ascended into heaven,
and sitteth at the right hand of God the Father Almighty;
from thence he shall come to judge the quick and the dead.
I believe in the Holy Spirit,
the holy catholic church,
the communion of saints,
the forgiveness of sins,
the resurrection of the body,
and the life everlasting. Amen.
*GLORIA PATRI Glory be to the Father and to the Son and to the Holy Ghost;
As it was in the beginning, in now, and ever shall be, world without end.
PSALTER Psalm 138 I give you thanks, O LORD, with my whole heart;
I bow down toward your holy temple
I give thanks to your name for your steadfast love;
for you have exalted your name above everything.
On the day I called, you answered me,
you increased my strength of soul.
Though I walk in the midst of trouble,
you preserve me against the wrath of my enemies;
you stretch out your hand, and your right hand delivers me.
The LORD will fulfill his purpose for me;
your steadfast love, O LORD, endures forever.
CHORUS Holy, Holy, Holy Santo Holy, holy, holy,
My heart, my heart adores you!
My heart knows how to say to you:
You are holy, Lord.
CALL TO PRAYER The Lord be with you.
And also with you. Let us pray.
THE PRAYERS OF THE PEOPLE
THE LORD’S PRAYER UM Hymnal, 895 Our Father, who art in heaven, hallowed be thy name.
Thy kingdom come, thy will be done on earth as it is in heaven.
Give us this day our daily bread.
And forgive us our trespasses, as we forgive those who trespass against us.
And lead us not into temptation, but deliver us from evil.
For thine is the kingdom, and the power, and the glory, forever. Amen.

LESSON Philippians 3:3-8
ANTHEM Here I Am Courtney
SERMON Living Out the Commandment Gary Boyette
RESPONSE The Canticle of Love Let love be genuine and live in harmony;
Hate what is evil, hold fast to what is good.
Outdo one another in showing honor;
Be humble and never conceited.
Love is stronger than death and jealousy is cruel as the grave.
Floods cannot drown love and wealth cannot buy it.
Put love above all else; let Christ’s peace rule your hearts.
Always be forgiving, as Christ has forgiven you.
Love is not jealous or boastful, arrogant, rude, or stubborn,
Irritable, resentful, or possessive. Love is patient and kind.
Do not love in word or speech only; love also in deed and truth.
Rejoice each other in sincerity, find mercy and grown old together.
Love rejoices in the right; it bears, believes, hopes,
And endures all things, for love is faithful and endless.
When the Lord builds the house, the labor is never in vain.
Happy are those who take refuge in God;
Those who serve the Lord are redeemed.

We welcome our little ones to worship with us today. However, if your little
ones need a break from worship, you can ask an usher to direct you to our
Nursery. Tabatha Miller is taking care of the nursery and she would like to show
some love to your little ones.
The United Methodist Women extend a huge THANKS for the support of our church and congregation at our Soup and Sandwich Luncheon. Because of your generous donations, we raised approximately $650 which will be used by the UMW to continue to support our many projects. Thank you again for all the many ways you may have assisted: setting up the Fellowship Hall, cleaning up on Sunday after the luncheon, bringing soup and/or dessert, serving Sunday morning, making a donation, enjoying lunch with your church family—all of these ways and more. We truly appreciate YOU!!
