Jan. 13-14Second Sunday in Ordinary TimeIn the Gospel today, John the Baptist points out Jesus as the “Lamb of God,” the one who lived and accepted even death to save us from sin. Although we live in uncertain times, we are called to live in union with the One who ransomed us by his own death out of love for us. We will indeed face what he faced - suffering, fear and death - but like him we are promised a share in his risen life and glory. How can we share our hope this week? How can we break through fear and anxiety in our lives or the lives of those around us because of our faith in Jesus?

En el Evangelio de hoy, Juan el Bautista señala a Jesús como el “Cordero de Dios”, quien vivió y aceptó incluso la muerte para salvarnos. A pesar de que vivimos tiempos de incertidumbre, estamos llamados a vivir en unión con el Único que pagó por nosotros con su propia vida por amor a nosotros. Es cierto que enfrentaremos -sufrimiento, miedo y muerte- pero al igual que a Él,
se nos promete compartir de su resurrección y gloria ¿Cómo podemos compartir nuestra esperanza esta semana? ¿Cómo podemos eliminar el dolor y la ansiedad de nuestras vidas y de las vidas de los que están a nuestro alrededor por medio de nuestra fe en Jesús?

Reconciliation Workshop for First Communion Students - On Janu-ary 29th and January 31st we will host our Reconciliation Workshop for First Communion Students. All students have been assigned their day to attend. Please check your First Communion Guidelines for more information or contact the RE Office. This workshop is required for all children who are preparing to celebrate their First Communion this May. A parent/guardian must attend with them. No siblings, please make childcare arrangements for younger siblings.

World Marriage Day! This year we will recognize all couples who have a milestone wedding anniversary in 2017 & 2018. Starting with 10 years, then at 5-year intervals, (15, 20, 25, etc.) The priest will hand out the certificates at the Mass of the couple’s choice on February 10 or 11, 2018. If you want to participate you may get the registration form on-line at: http://santacruzcc.org/ or call the par-ish office. The deadline for registering is Friday, January 26, 2018.

Parent Information Session: January 19, 2018 (8:30-10:00 am)Prospective parents are invited to attend our parent-only Information Session on January 19th. During this session, parents will learn about our school, enjoy a student led tour of our beautiful campus and hear about our admission process. Did you know that Savio offers bus transportation at locations in south, central and north Austin? To find out more of these interesting facts join us for an information session. Are you wanting to learn more about our faith? Are you just sitting in your car waiting for your kids to get out of religious education classes? Take that leap of faith because we have something for you. Classes will be offered on Wednesday evenings at 6:45 p.m. in English with Anna Lara in the Knights of Columbus room (PAC301) and in Spanish with Art Lara in room 208 in the Education building.
On Sundays, we will have a Spanish session at 9:45 a.m. in room 208 of the Education Building.
This is open to everyone come join us for this year’s Adult Faith Forma-tion Program. Classes will follow the RE calendar for the year. For more information please contact the RE Office.

Adult Faith Sacramental Sessions will be offered on Mondays starting: January 22, 2018. These sessions run from 6:30-8:00 pm for 10 weeks. These sacramental preparation classes are for adults who have already celebrated the sacrament of Baptism in the Catholic church and who wish to celebrate the Sacraments of First Communion and/or Confirmation. If you are interested in participat-ing in these 10-week sessions please contact the RE Office at 512-312-2520 ext. 137, to register.
Se ofrecerán Sesiones Sacramentales de Fe para Adultos los lunes a partir del 22 de enero del 2018. Estas sesiones se llevarán a cabo de las 6:30 a las 8:00 PM por 10 semanas. Texas Catholic Pro-life day is Saturday, January 27th, at the capitol. We would like everyone to mark their calendars for this special event.
