    The aim of the Scholarship Programme is to assist the successful individual, who might otherwise not havethe necessary resources, to achieve their Licence. The Scholarship covers only direct training andexamination costs. The costs of obtaining the Class 2 Medical Certificate and any associated travel,subsistence and accommodation expenses are the responsibility of the Scholarship winner.

    The criteria for successful applications includes:

    your ability to demonstrate a serious ambition and ability to pursue an aviation related career

    your availability to undertake and complete the Scholarship during summer 2016 your educational achievements, demonstrable knowledge and/or experience in science,

    mathematics or other aviation related subjects

    you must be able to satisfy the relevant medical standard to enable issue of a Class 2 MedicalCertificate issued in the UK in accordance with Part Med

    you must be aged at least 17 on 1 June 2016

    The Company will expect training to be carried out at a Flying School approved by the Company; to becommenced during June 2016 and to be completed by 3 October 2016. For successful candidates atinterview, details of awards, along with the full terms and conditions will be sent for formal acceptance in duecourse.

    A Selection Committee appointed by the Company makes the awards. Candidates who are short-listed forthe PPL Scholarships are required to attend at their own expense an interview in London on 27 or 28 April atthe Company Office (alternative dates cannot be arranged). The interview process includes short tests tohelp ascertain aptitude and ability.

    If a Scholarship is awarded, Air Pilots will review all training progress throughout the course and reserves theright to withdraw funding and cease sponsorship at any stage if, in its sole discretion, it considers thatsatisfactory progress is not being demonstrated. The review will encompass assessment of the studentscommitment, timely completion of the stages of expected progress, timely reports from the student and schooland flying training and ground examination achievements.
