Set Grading Term

Class List

Use the menu in the middle of the screen to select the class you wish to grade for. Click the icon thatlooks like a spreadsheet. In the example, we'll be entering grades for math.

Scoresheet

Since you are only entering final grades, you do not need to create assignments. Instead, you'll create agrade entry through the gradebook's "manual override" ability. Click in the column of the scoresheetwith the header "GRADE".

Score Inspector

On the right-hand side of the screen, the score inspector will open. Select the grade to be given for thequarter. Use the mouse or the computer's arrow keys to move between students and enter a grade forall students. You can also use the keyboard to type in one of the grades listed in the score inspector.

Saving Scores

Once you have finished entering scores, push the Save button. If you have a large class, you may needto scroll to the bottom of the score sheet in order to find the button.

Grading Standards

Standards exist in the Reading (all grades) and Mathematics courses (1st through 5th grades). Thesestandards indicate performance on specific skills. To access them, click the grading charm on the right,then select "Standards" from the Grades section of the menu.

Standards Grades

If a class has standards attached, you'll see a scoresheet with a column header of the standardindicators. After clicking on a cell, the standard's name will be listed above the scoresheet and the scoreinspector will slide out from the right with many of the same options as the traditional gradingscoresheet. Use the mouse or arrow keys to move between students and the score inspector or thecorresponding keyboard keys to assign grades. Once you're done, push the Save button. If you have alarge class, you may need to scroll to the bottom of the score sheet in order to find the button.

Repeat for the Remainder of the Classes.

Repeat the process for the rest of the classes listed. The standards grading only needs to be done forReading and Mathematics (Grades 1 through 5).

Behaviors & Comments

Once the academic classes are complete, the social development and work habit standards need to befilled out. Switch to the "Behaviors & Comments" class. Comments left in this class will also display onthe report card.

Report Card Comments

In order to leave a comment on the report card, click in the grade column on the Behaviors &Comments Score Sheet. Then, click the comment tab on the score inspector. After leaving commentsfor all of the students, click the Save button. If you have a large class, you may need to scroll to thebottom of the score sheet in order to find the button.

Social Development/Work Habit standards

Similarly to the skills-based standards in Reading and Math, social development and work habitstandards exist in the Behaviors & Comments class. Click the grading charm on the right, then select"Standards" from the Grades section of the menu.

Standards Grades

In order to grade the Social Development/Work Habits standards, follow the same process as theacademic standards. Click in a cell, find the name of the standard above the scoresheet, and enter theappropriate score. Use the mouse or the arrow keys in order to navigate between students andstandards. Use the score inspector or the keyboard in order to enter the grades. Once done, make sureto save the grades. If you have a large class, you may need to scroll to the bottom of the score sheet inorder to find the button.
