Introduction• There are many animals that live in the

African Congo. This presentation will teach you some interesting facts about a few of them. You will also be able to click on links on some of the slides in order to learn more about each animal and to play some fun games. Enjoy!

Cheetah

• Cheetahs are located in sub-Saharan Africa in the open plains.

• They are the fastest land animals and hunt on animals smaller than antelopes.

• They do not roar like lions, instead they hiss and growl like cats.

Zebra

• Zebras are located in eastern African.

• Zebras are herbivores and feed on mostly grass and foliage.

• Their striped coats are used to camouflage themselves from predators.

Elephant

• African elephants can be found in the entire lower part of Africa.

• They are the biggest animals on Earth.

• They are endangered because they are hunted for their ivory tusks that sell for a lot of money.

Rhinoceros

• There are both black rhinos and white rhinos living in Africa.

• Rhinos are extremely large animals with big horns and bad tempers.

• They are endangered like elephants because hunters want their horns to sell for a big profit.

Lowland Gorillas

• Lowland gorillas live in the middle of Africa on the Atlantic Ocean.

• They grow to be about the size of an adult human, between 4 and 6 feet.

• Gorillas are omnivores so they eat both plants and animals.

Giraffe

• Giraffes live in eastern and southern Africa.

• Known for their tall necks and they are the tallest living animal.

• They are herbivores that feed on grass and trees.
