Click the pin symbol next to any file to keep it on the Recent Documents list.

Click Save or Save As to display the Save As dialog box.
Click New folder to create and name a new folder.
Key the name of the file in the File name box.
Click Save.
To save a document in a new folder:

Word remains open with no document on the screen.
To close a document and leave Word open:

To close a document and exit Word: Click the Close button at the top
right of the screen. The document closes and Word
exits.

Paragraph Formats
Alignment commands specify how text lines up. Line and Paragraph Spacing determines the amount of space
between lines of text. Shading applies colour as a background for text. Border applies and removes inside and outside borders.

Bullets, Numbering, and Multilevel List format lists of information.
Decrease Indent and Increase Indent move all lines of a paragraph to the right or left.
Sort alphabetizes selected text or arranges numerical data in ascending or descending order.

Align Text Left—all lines begin at left margin. Center—all lines are centred. Align Text Right—all lines align at the right margin. Justify—all lines align at both the left and right margins.

Click in a paragraph and click Increase or Decrease Indent.
Each click of a button increases or decreases the indent by 0.5".
Increase Indent and Decrease Indent move all lines at the left side of a paragraph to the same point.

Save preserves the current version of a document. Undo reverses the most recent action; the drop-list arrow
displays a list of recent actions that can be reversed. Redo reverses the last Undo; it can be used several times to
redo the past several actions.

Click Proofing and then click AutoCorrect Options.
Key a shortcut for a longer phrase or a word often misspelled in the Replace box.
Key the correct word or phrase in the With box.
Click Add. To remove an entry, select it
and tap DELETE.

Click Thesaurus to display the Research task pane.
In the Research task pane, hold pointer over the appropriate word, click the down arrow, and then click Insert.

The Clipboard stores up to 24 items so they can be used in other locations.

Click in the paragraph that has the desired format and click the Format Painter. -or-Double-click the Format Painter to copy formats to more than one paragraph.
Click in the paragraph or paragraphs to copy the desired format.
To copy paragraph formats:

Turn on Show/Hide and remove any extra paragraphs.
Click Page Setup Dialog Box Launcher.
Click Layout tab. Click Vertical alignment drop-
list arrow. Select Center.
