What are smart materials?

Smart materials can have their properties dramatically altered in a way that normal materials cannot.

Smart materials are substances that can sense and respond to any changes in their environment in a way that is reliable, predictable and useful.

Can you think of any different types of material that respond to changes in

their environment?

Through scientific research and development, the potential of these materials is now greater than ever.
