    Preface

    Entering the 21st century,Information and communicationtechnology has been developing atvery fast pace. Microsoftword 2007 isan example of the rapidly developingtechnology.The Alpha Team hope that

    this powerpoint will be able to enrichreaders about Microsoft word 2007View tab and able to use it easily.

    View Tab

    The View tab has the following groups: DocumentViews, Show/ Hide, Zoom, Window and Macros.

    In the Document Views group, you can use thefollowing views as shown below in the red

    rectangle: Print Layout, Full Screen Reading, WebLayout, Outline, and Draft view. This group can also

    be accessed from the Toolbar located on the right

    Document Views

    In the Document Views group, you can use thefollowing views as shown below in the red rectangle:

    Print Layout, Full Screen Reading, Web Layout,Outline, and Draft view. This group can also beaccessed from the Toolbar located on the rightbottom of your document. Let us take a look at

    these views one at a time.

    Print LayoutThis view can be used to see whatyour document will look like when

    printed. Print Layout is also the defaultview of Microsoft Word 2007.Full Screen ReadingYou can use this one to see the document inreading mode in Microsoft Word 2007. Whenusing this view, the Ribbon is hidden to

    maximize your reading area.Web LayoutThis layout is handy especially when you wantto see the document in a web browser formatlike the Internet Explorer.

    OutlineWhen you switch to this layout, all you see is

    the document divided into different heading

    levels. You can choose the level of detail thatyou would like to see by controlling the ShowLevel option.Drafthis is the most common format as you will

    use this one when working on a document.When using this layout style you will see thedocument in a regular editing format. Theheaders and footers are not available whenworking with the Draft view in MicrosoftWord 2007

    Show/hide

    The next group in the View Tab that we willlook at is the Show/Hide group. Using this

    group, you can turn on options like the Ruler,Gridlines, Document Map and Thumbnails. Letus take a look at some of these options next.

    The Ruler displays on the left and top sides off

    your document and uses inches asmeasurement. This gives you more control on

    ZoomSometimes it is necessary to zoom in and out to get a

    better idea of what your document looks like or how will itshow up on a Printer. The Zoom group in Microsoft Word2007 View Tab lets you do just that. When you click onthe zoom command in on the Ribbon, you will get a new

    dialog box as shown below.

    When you finally need to switch back to100%, you can just click on this

    command on the zone group. I'veincluded a screen shot here.

    Function of the ButtonsThe last option in the Zoom group is the two page option. When I

    click on this command, Microsoft Word 2007 will display two pagesof my document at a time. This is useful when you are trying to

    give your document final touches before you email or send it to theprinter. The pages will be shown side to side as noted below.

    Windows

    The next group is the Window group in MicrosoftWord 2007 View tab. This group essentially lets youwork on the same document utilizing different views

    and windows.

    Function of the Buttons

    When you select theNew Window option, itwill open a new windowcontaining the same

    document. This canbe useful if you need tosee two differentsections of the samedocument at the same

    time.

    Split feature is

    also similar inconcept to the NewWindow option;however Split does

    not open up a newwindow. It justsplits the currentdocument into twoparts within the

    same window. This

    Every now and then it is necessary to view the samedocument side by side. This can be handy when you arcomparing maybe two sections that are related. I caneasily do this by viewing the document side by side. I

    Macro

    The last option under the View Tab is Macrosoption. Macros are useful in re-enabling a certain orderof tasks that you may perform commonly. For example,if you add a title, heading, your name and date to

    almost every document that you put together, it makessense to add these steps to a Macro and then run itevery time you start a new document.
