POWER EVANGELISMIntroduction

his Power Evangelism packet was put together to help the body of Christ win the lost at any cosf you will apply these techniques and tools, you will obtain fruitful results in your personal life andyour ministry with seeing multitudes call upon the name of the Lord.

We call this evangelism method Power Evangelism because Acts 1:8 declares: But ye shall re-ceive power, after that the Holy Ghost is come upon you: and ye shall be witnesses unto me botn Jerusalem, and in all Judaea, and in Samaria, and unto the uttermost part of the earth.You will notice that the scripture reports that we receive power to be a witness. Many want thepower of God but are not willing to be a witness. When the power fell in Acts chapter 2, 120 people were endued with this power that Jesus spoke of and Peter preached the Pentecostal sermoAs a result, 3,000 were added to the Kingdom of God. We have found that the most effective way to grow the local church is through relationshipevangelism.

We can see through the Word of God that this was a pattern that Jesus disciples used when therst had an encounter with Jesus and since it worked for them it will denitely work for us.

One of the two who heard what John said and followed Jesus was Andrew, Simon Peters brothHe rst sought out and found his own brother Simon and said to him, We have found (discoveredhe Messiah!--which translated is the Christ (the Anointed One). 1. Hand out Operation Andrew cards on Sunday morning and refer to above scriptures.Then, have the congregation ll in, at least, seven or more names of un-saved or backsliddenfriends and / or relatives in your area.

2. In each service, have the congregation hold up their lled out Operation Andrew cardsand pray for those on their lists for salvation and that all would come into the Kingdom of

God. Then, pray for the Lord to give them favor as they approach them and invite them toFriendship Sunday.

3. Set a date that you will have Friendship Sunday and have everyone in the congrega-tion use their faith for, at least, one unsaved person or family member to be with them onFriendship Sunday. Friendship Sunday Keys: Use the slogan - Everyone Bring One! Preach anEvangelistic message, testimonies, altar call, snacks after service with fellowship with Pastor,staff, and church members.

4. Follow Up - Each person that brought a rst time visitor then follows up on them. Example:If the rst time visitor does not come the following Sunday, then the person that brought them

calls them and prays with them and disciples them.

5. Teach new people that they immediately need to bring other new people to the nextservice. Whatever you try to maintain will go backwards. You must build with the key peoplethat will evangelize and with the new people that are excited about their new found love,Jesus.

STREET TIPS

dentify where the most people are at any given time where soul-winners can be sent.

GENERAL PREPARATIONS:

Have materials prepared ahead of time for those who will be evangelizing. The G.A.T. uses indiviual small bags for this purpose. Suggested materials to include in each bag are as follows: Gosp

oul Winning Script (multiple languages, if needed), Keep Me On Your Prayer List Card (Commit-ment Card), Individual Survey & Poll forms (multiple languages, if needed), Individual Stat Card, pencil, and Church Invites (handbills or business cards advertising your local church).

Please note: Suggested information for the Church Invites is as follows: Name of church, addressphone, website, service times, map and / or directions, language(s) that the services are beingpreached in, First Time Visitor gift mentioned (CD, Bible, beverage), Youth / Childrens Church.

Have folders prepared for each Team Leader to take their team to. Suggested items in each foldare as follows: directions and a map to the area that the group will be evangelizing with back ushing holes, a Team Leader Stat Card, and a contact phone number for the Team Leader toeport the stats to and / or to reach someone in case of an emergency.

In advance, we identify busy places to go to that are ideal for soul-winning.

We identify the most ideal times for those locations. Timing can make a big difference.

Following is a list of hot spots ideas:

1. Apartments where people are home during the day.

2. Malls

3. Grocery stores - nd out what other large stores are in your area. Wal-Mart is a goodexample.

4. Downtown area/Courthouse - Where is the main downtown area of the city? Usually,ts near the courthouse. Downtown is one of the key spots in almost every city that we go to,especially in the bigger metropolitan areas of 1 million or more people. Downtown areas areypically best Monday through Friday during the day.

5. Schools - We have had success on college campuses asking the students to ll out thendividual Survey & Polls. Also, map out the fraternity and sorority housing. Find out when theymeet and ask them if you can say a prayer for everyone. Review the campus map. Are therecampus ministries that would help get us on campus? Ask coaches if you can say a prayer ofblessing for their teams--just say the gospel script within the prayer and give them an opportu-nity to accept Jesus at the end. Also weve had success at high schools praying for teams.

6. Train, subway, or city bus stations - What times are the most people there? Identify thearriving and departing times. If there are multiple locations, which ones are the largest andbusiest? Ask the bus drivers if you can say a prayer of blessing for everyone on the bus, prayhe script within the prayer, be loud, and then give them an opportunity for salvation. Weveeen thousands of people get saved in buses across the United States.

7. Homeless shelters - What times are the people there for meals? How many people dohey feed? Are there any other locations afliated with each one?

8. Events - Can we open the event with a prayer or song? What time is the event? Whats the expected attendance? If its a week long event, is attendance the same every day? Ishere a parking fee or entrance fee? Review the local newspaper a week before to see up-

coming events. What is the website that local people use to nd out whats going on? Also,ook out for seasonal events, parades, and toy giveaways.

9. Flea markets - How many people in attendance?

Here are some pointers:

Always have one or two nearby backup spots for each area that you send teams. Also, just icase it rains, have indoor places that the teams can go. Check the weather report.

Get all the team leaders cell phone numbers and have good communication with them. Athem to call you at 1pm, 3pm, and at 6pm. Always have a pulse of whats happening on thestreets with each team.

Be safe. Go two by two; no one goes inside houses. If someone goes off by themselves, thendelays the whole team as they are looking for them. Split the teams up in groups of two; makeach person accountable to the other person. The teams need to keep track of one anoth-er. Be sensitive to the Holy Ghost in every decision you make. If you dont feel a peace withstaying at a certain spot, then leave immediately. We need to protect the team, and God wgive you wisdom on how to keep them safe.

Make sure your team drinks plenty of water, has enough to eat, and uses sun block.

Do not lay hands on kids, but do lay hands on the sick, always with their permission.

If your team is not getting a huge harvest where youre at, go to a different spot.

Review the team leader stat sheets and individual stat cards every day. If you have low numbers of people getting saved, take a look at how many people the teams spoke with that daYou might have to change your strategy and send the team to different spots tomorrow. If ateam member is speaking to 30 people in a day and only two get saved, there is a problem.He might not be using the Gospel Soul Winning Script. Get feedback everyday from the teamleaders and train them accordingly. Have team leader meetings in the morning before soul-winning and address any issues that come up.

Draw a one-mile radius around your church and then knock on every door. When we did it foour church, we knocked on most doors at night or on a Saturday. We gave the soul-winners aportion of the map and they would highlight whatever streets they covered. Then, we wouldturn around and highlight the main map to keep track of the progress. Saturdays are greatdays for soul-winning door to door because more people will be home.

A FEW METHODS OF PROCLAIMING THE GOSPEL

. Make a list of friends, family, associates, and your realm of inuence of people that are not servingthe Lord and share the Gospel with them.

2. Soul Winning mail-outs to your zip code, city, town, prisons, etc.3. Knock on doors in your neighborhood, your church neighborhood, city, etc.

4. Soul Winning commercials on television, radio, Internet5. Conduct outreaches: free food, concerts, carnivals, health fairs, children events such as;

Easter egg hunts, petting zoo, etc.

6. Rent a booth at home shows, ea markets, and fairs to issue the Individual Survey and Poll toeveryone who comes near your table.

7. Call everyone in the phone directory. Use the Phone Gospel Soul Winning Script.8. Rent a venue to preach to groups of people.9. Run Soul Winning ads in newspapers, local publications.

0. Reach your local schools by asking if you can conduct a prayer during general assembly. Pray forthe students safety and go straight into the Gospel Soul Winning Script. Also, to reach your localschools on career day, you can share what you do for a living and then go into the Gospel SoulWinning Script.

1. Identify what time the school bell rings to dismiss high schools---have teams at nearby locations toshare the Gospel.

2. Wherever there are local rallies and / or parades, ask if you may have the microphone for acouple of minutes to pray a prayer of safety over everyone and then go into the Gospel SoulWinning Script. Identify special events by referring to the local newspapers.

3. College campuses. Get the campus map and identify the busiest locations. Where are the frater-nity and sorority housing? Where do they meet? Identify nearest coffee shops. (The Gospel surveyworks well at colleges.)

4. Share the Gospel on a bus with the permission of the bus driver. Trains and subways can also befruitful. When are their busiest times?

5. Share the Gospel in the local food shelters, homeless shelters, and weather aide shelters.6. Share the Gospel in the local boys and girls clubs.7. Offer prayer at birthday parties and celebrations and then go into the Gospel Soul Winning Script.

Phone Script for Booking Nursing Homes

When you call the facilities ask to speak to the activities director:

Hello, my name is ________ and I am calling from _________ church. The reason I am calling youoday is that God has put the elderly on my heart and I would like to come into your facility andoffer prayer to your residents. Our teams are well trained in terms of HIPPA laws (not taking nameor private information). They are polite and not pushy. They wear name tags, knock at the doorso the residents rooms, and will check in at each nursing station.

Normally they are very grateful that we have a desire to come into the nursing homes andspend time with their patients.

If they say yes, we can get a group together for you, I reply: If it is alright with you, I prefer tgo room to room and pray for the patients. This is because I know that many of the patients w

really need prayer are not often able to attend group settings due to their physical limitations(This usually opens the door for room to room visits with the patients.)

I schedule the visits at 10am, 1pm, 2:30pm, and 4pm. These times seem to work well for thenursing homes daily schedules.

It is important for the teams to stop at each individual nursing station in the nursing homes anlet them know that they are there offering prayer to the patients. It is also important that theywear name tags.

Key Points for the Nursing Homes

Remember to use the Nursing Home Gospel Script.

Introduce yourselves at the nurses stations.

Remember to not take down any names in the nursing home. Taking down names would bein violation of the HIPPA Law.

Wear your name tags. This will make the staff and patients more comfortable.

Knock loudly at the doors as many patients are hard of hearing.

Go into the nursing homes with the intention of praying for everyone and leading everyoneto the Lord.

Witnessing to the staff is at the team leaders discretion. It is important to not spend too much time with any individual patient. There are many

patients in each nursing home. Our goal is to give everyone the opportunity to receive JesusChrist as their Lord and Savior.

Confused patients may only be able to do the condensed version of the salvation prayerwhich was covered in the training class.

It is important to not be intimidated by contracted patients conned to their beds. Manyare lying in bed just waiting for the opportunity to receive Jesus Christ as their Lord andSavior.

Please be sure to get testimony cards and stat cards lled out from all of your teammembers before they leave.

Pray for the sick and EXPECT MIRACLES TO HAPPEN!

Approach residents and staff with the Gospel expecting favor to lead them all to the Lord!

Follow-Up Points for the Nursing Homes

Follow-up in the nursing homes is important. Some of the ways we do this are:1. Setting up Bible studies for the patients.

2. Conducting church services and visitations weekly/bi-weekly in the facilities.

3. Going through the Nursing Home Gospel Script and offering salvation to new patients whohave been admitted into the facilities.
