- Coercive power and reward power are actually oppsites of each other

- based on the distibution of undersirable outcomes-eitherthe receipt of something negative or the remoral of

something positive

- Subordienates may do what their superiors desirebecause they fear the superior will punish them if theydo not

- it is important to note that punisments are effective

only if used properly

The power a person receives as a result of his or herposition in the formal hierarchy of an organization

Recognized organization authority

In formal and organization, probably the most frequent

access to one or more of the power bases is ones

when people get together in group, power will be exerted.People want to carve out a nice from which to exert
